I had my 2nd cello anniversary last Sunday. And yes, I have really practiced every single day since I started playing two years ago. I started with 100 days of practice challenge, because I thought if I was going to do this, I would take it really seriously. But it completely hooked me, and daily practicing hasn't been anything I have to do, I really WANT to do it every day!
And what a journey it has been! I never knew where this path would lead me, what wonderful things it would bring in front of me, how lovely people I would meet, and most of all, how much I would learn! And the best thing: this is just a beginning!
I have a feeling that this really is my thing, something I have missed my whole life, something I was always meant to do.
My teacher chose this piece for me to my 2 year anniversary. It’s challenging but not too much, and it nicely brings together many of the techniques I have learned so far. This has been really fun to practice! It’s not perfect yet, I will need some more help with this and I’m sure I will also come back to this piece later when I have learned more, but this is how it goes now.

waw, I don't know the "classic" cello progression, but it seems to me that you have made a lot of progress in 2 years, the work behind it is there! Good game! My husband has just started the cello and his teacher told him that the whole first year is dedicated to positioning, holding the bow etc.

What a great instrument choice, you can play some duets together soon! ❤️ And hey, ask your husband to join this forum too! I would love to chat with other cellists!

@Ilona - as a non-cellist myself (other than an occasional play around on one belonging to a friend - even THEN it's the simplest of stuff!) - I have to say for two years - I am seriously impressed. Bowing techniques, shifting, fingering and HARMONICS wow - very very cool!
You say -
I have a feeling that this really is my thing, something I have missed my whole life, something I was always meant to do.
Way to go! To have such a passion for playing, I would have to agree !
Best wishes on your continued journey !!!
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)
