A solo fiddle cover of the vocal-melody of the famous Mike Oldfield track "Moonlight Shadow" which appeared on his 8th studio album called "Crises" in 1983. On the album, the vocals to this track are performed by the great Scottish singer, Maggie Reilly.
[ Needs more work, but it's getting there - and apologies for the foot-tapping sounds in places ! Oh and - errrr no - this song should not be confused with "Moonshadow" by Cat Stevens / Yusuf Islam - another fine song in its own right !!! ]
[ Oh - trust me, the real thing's a lot better.... here you go - ]

Thanks @Mouse and @MoonShadows ... yeah there must be some geo-restriction set on that video - if you're not familiar with the piece - just try searching "Mike Oldfield Moonlight Shadow" - there must be some bootleg-posted version out there that's generally available ! Great album, lot of clever studio work as well has gone into it if you like that kind of thing - well - it's mid-80's pop-rock-culture - what else were they gonna do? LOL

thank you @ABitRusty , @Mark - it's getting there.... Next task is to do something that approximates to the lead guitar solo part - it's a bit darned fast (for me) and way up the neck on the guitar ( and in fact, at the time the album came out, because the guitar solo was so "clean" it was said that Oldfield had played it at half-tempo, an octave down and then sped it up in the studio mix - but that is not true..... ) - I'm about to do something naughty here - since the official version appears to be blocked states-side, I'll record an audio extract of the bit I'm talking about and post it here - you'll see what I mean.... (and I have no sheet for this, it's all by ear) -
And as an official disclaimer and attribution to the originator of the original work - this extract from the Crises official video release is for two purposes - (1) educational, and (2) to share some small part of Mike Oldfield's awesome music !
