Nice work.  Great intonation.  A bit more practice and it will just roll-off-your fingers !   I like the "feel" of it - I play it somewhat differently ( in the timing that is - the tune is the same - it's not "better", it's just different, LOL) - but THAT is the beauty of fiddle music and an individual performer's interpretation.

Well done thumbs-up

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Very nice! Your tone, especially, is great!

Very cool. Especially that you are playing outdoors and the bird (or birds) singing with you. :)
Thanks for the post!

Thanks so much, @RonB @pj1968

@BillyG I'm still fighting with the rhythm of the B part (and certain bars of the A part) I'm hoping to clean it up this week :) It is a fun little tune to play, though.

@Fiddlerman I love that spot in the park... even if I do have to try to play faster than the planes take off and land, lol. I never really hear the planes anymore after living by the airport for 17 years, lol, so I didn't really think about that when I chose my spot to play.

Very cool. We have a beach that we love where planes take off and land over head... Sometimes it's kind of cool. Most of the time I just want to hear the waves and the wind though.

@Fiddlerman They are really neat to watch, but it is nice to actually just hear stuff without them rumbling, lol.

Very nice, for both videos. Did you learn both tunes you played outside by heart?

I admire your straight bow.thumbs-up

@AnnyJ Thank you :) Yeah, usually by the time I do a video I have the song memorized, makes it a little easier for me, lol.

WOW "Whiskey Before Breakfast" looks very hard to play and I thought you did well.  I also enjoyed "Tennessee Waltz". Can't wait to watch as you continue to play   :-)

@Fran Thanks :) It's probably not an overly difficult song to play, I just manage to screw it up enough to make it look like it is, lol winkviolin-student

Very nice to both pieces and videos.
Thanks for including the fun stuff in the Whiskey Before Breakfast video. Makes it even more fun to watch. Looks like you are having a lot of fun learning that one too.
NICE HAT!!!!!

@Fiddlerman Thanks :) I figured since I wanted to redo the song but couldn't get through it without mistakes I had to go with a different feel for the video, lol. Goofing around was me trying to relax myself to just play, hahaha. And thanks, I got the hat at a Rodeo a few years ago... a bit bright, but I couldn't leave the rodeo without it, haha.

@Fiddlerman It is :) I rather enjoyed the Mutton Busting ... little tiny kids riding sheep and getting thrown on their faces, lol. Had some fun photographing that.

Tennessee Waltz has become a bit of a project piece for my lessons. My teacher decided to use it as an exercise to get me to play more by ear, and just go with it. So I noodled around with more last night, and did a quick recording of my practice.

I'm also supposed to work on playing along as a backing instrument to some youtube videos of the song, to just find the key and play... in class we used a live performance of Patsy Cline... She told me I have a good ear and to ignore the sheet music for now....so we'll see how that goes this week, lol.

Very nice job there @damfino , wish I played half as good.

With violins there is no fretting over the music.
