Thanks @coolpinkone :) I'm leaning heavily towards the 905. Something in the tone when I listen to the videos, and the overall look, as silly of a reason as that is, lol. The Kreisler is pretty close.

i was this way with my photography hobby, got myself a starter DSLR, and very shortly after upgraded. Knitting, too... Bought cheap needles, and then invested in better ones. I should have known I would do this, lol. But 2 violins will be a good thing, lol.

Two violins is NEVER a bad thing... or four or five....facepalmexactlyfacepalm

Lol, I already upgraded my violin case, and am currently knitting accessories for it. Hobbies sure make me greedy, lol.

Oh, don't get me started on yarn. Pretty pretty yarn, lol. I have pretty antique spinning wheels, but never learned to spin, lol.

How is it already 41 days that I've been playing?

Ok, this isn't my best run through of the song, plus I'm dog sitting for my boss and his wife, so I'm in an apartment with a mute on my violin... why did I decide to make this video? Lol oh well, here it is.

Thanks everyone :) I've been having fun with this one, playing with the string changes in it. I'm trying to get faster at playing it.

Thanks, AnnyJ :) I'm happy that my fingers feel like they are moving faster on the strings now :)

I forgot I did a redo of Can-Can on Monday after class. I was a bit frustrated with my playing on Monday, so even though I have been working hard on another song, I was doing horrible with it and gave up on trying to make a video of it.

Didn't set up my backdrop or lights because my playing wasn't worth doing that, lol. Still some squeaks when crossing strings, but my speed is getting a little better on it :) Oh, and this video was done with my new Fiddlerman strings ... and no mute, lol :)

Sounds OK to me, though not your best ever. I also find string crossings can be fine one day and messy the next - the hope is that the ratio gradually moves in the direction of fine. ;)

I agree, not my best. I was pretty annoyed with myself, and I think it was coming through my playing. Most angry rendition of Can Can ever, lol.

When I play it, its still more of a Can't Can't.  Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Tyberious :)

I'm working on a handful of songs, trying to get more comfortable doing slurs and such.  I'm also trying to get rid of my squeaks with crossing strings. Open bowing I'm just fine, but when I put my fingers down, I start getting the squeaks. I think I need to learn to avoid the strings that are raising and lowering as my fingers move off and on them. At least that's what I think is causing it.

I don't think anything I'm learning will be video worthy for a while. Most of my concentration is going to learning Harvest Home, which is so fun to play, and hope I'll have it sounding good soon :)

Nice job @damfino.  I'm building up the courage to make a video of myself.  My husband is out of town for 2 weeks and I want to surprise him with the Godfather Theme.  I've only been playing the violin for 5 days, so I found an easier version of the Godfather Theme than the one on the forum. Wish me luck.  Good luck with choosing your violin.  I have the 903 and I love the tone and color.
