New Fiddlershop Concert Viola
After playing my old viola for almost 11 months, I decided to get a new, better one and today it came.

I couldn't be happier with this new viola, the sound is so much better, even with relatively poor technique. When I played the first phrase of music on it, both my wife and I said, "WOW"! I now have to get better, just to make the best use of this excellent instrument.

This fairly long video is of the unpacking and then two segments of being played (at 8:17 and 10:12). The first one of Amazing Grace has the terrible background sound of our furnace, but the second, improvisation the only bad sounds come from my mistakes and technique.

Really enjoyed watching this unpacking John, and loved the very evident joy on your face at the end, quite moving, I am genuinely very happy for you, I am sure such a beautiful instrument will bring you a great deal of joy, as I said on the other vid, its got a great tone, nice and deep.

@stringy - Thanks! When I played the first phrase on it, I almost teared up. It was an emotional moment and the tone blew both me and my wife away.

JohnG

Fantastic!

Grats on a new dark side fiddle😏

It sounds great!, I have a feeling you'll be posting a few tunes soon, as it has a great sound.

@Mark - Luckily I started on the dark side, so I'm just enjoying it! Thanks, I think it sounds great, too! Problem with posting is that I know how great it can sound and I'm not always capable of achieving it and don't want to sully "Maureen's" name.
