hey that was great everyone @OregonJim! What do you use to multitrack? I guess what I mean is what software/hardware , click track..that kinda thing. Do you record drum first or do it another way?"violin in background"... funny! hey.. Im Pretty sure itll be in the mix soon!
thanks for sharing!
Thank you! For multi-tracking, I used an open source video editor called shotcut (under Linux). Yeah, the drums act as the "click track" to keep everyone in sync. Had no need for a DAW - just raw cell phone video straight into shotcut.
Here's another one done the same way:
This one was a little more ambitious - we ended up using Ableton Live and DaVinci Resolve to get everything synced together:

@OregonJim -
Those are FABULOUS videos!
You are all making some very beautiful music together!
...a little violin playing would make it all perfect. 🤭
I'll have to learn more about 'shotcut'!
I still pretty much look like a deer caught in headlights with PreSonus... want to finally start getting into it, because I'm motivated, but this is a busy time of year for me.

those are wonderful @OregonJim ! like your piano playing. Pianote, especially ANYTHING Lisa has is great. Cant say Ive progressed a whole lot but really like the content. Especially the youtubes where they take queations and cover different style chords and progressions. very informative. The violin is a very jealous beast though.... 🙂 Hard to break away from it. Looks like youre far enough along on keys that learning violin wont be as big a hit there.
congrats on the videos ..theyre top notch!
