Been playing around with open tuning (this is ADAD) and this tune came out. The reverb is all fake. Garageband allows you to apply the effects in real time so if you play with over-the-ear headphones it really sounds like you are playing in a gigantic cathedral (or you can sound like an electric guitar with a wah wah pedal in a cathedral). Anyway, if any of you have garageband it's fun to play around with. There is something different about playing in a giant echoey room, not sure what it is. Makes me want to play lots of long smooth bows.
Hope everyone is well and getting lots of practicing in during quarantine!
Oh that's a really neat affect. Have fun!
Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

I was wondering what tuning you used..sounds great. funny.. at 39 seconds I was expecting a big upright bass to start playing and then the whole string band picks up. you don't need backing by any means it just sounds like the beginning of an old time band track. you have a foot tapper here! thanks for sharing this.

That would be cool! When this whole quarantine thing is over I'll have to cajole some friends to learn it and play it with me.

Great little tune there and interesting tech - it's making me think - Mark @fiddlinsteudel - and nice to see a post from you again - I know your musical interests can keep you away from the forum... Nicely done, Thanks again, good to see yah !
Yeah, I'm a dyed in the wool Windows user, and Garageband really isn't an option (I know there is an emulator out there, but.... I don't think it's worth the effort even trying it - I just know it would be flaky at best). I do use (or have started to use ) LMMS which is open-source and hugely well supported - and yes - it does have some limited real-time FX, but so far I've only used it in a post-processing mode.
My current method of getting true real-time, in-ear-as-played FX is to use my BOSS ME80 guitar FX box, but I guess I'd prefer a software solution.
We're still all fine here, and trust you and yours are also ! ^5s
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

Thanks @BillyG ! Yeah probably trying to emulate GarageBand would not get any results you would want.
Yeah honestly I haven't been playing much music lately, my bands all disbanded and I was having lots more fun making fly fishing videos, so it sorta just sat on the back burner. But with this quarantine in place and fishing closed down in my state (well they opened it up this week) I've been noodling around more. I'd like to write a couple of soundtracks and see if any fly fishing filmmakers would want to use it or use it myself.
Anway glad folks are doing well!
