Great playing Jim, never heard that tune, but then again there are 1000s of them. That one for me has a hint of blue grass in it.
Sympathy for you with the back, until you get it it's hard to describe just how bad it can be. Still struggle getting my socks on in the morning.

I think it's trad Irish originally, but my favourite youtube version was by a US fiddler so that might explain the blue grass flavour I've given it.
Mutual commiserations on your own back trouble - it's really crap isn't it.

As often happens, the origin story of this traditional tune is complicated, but if you google 'red haired boy origins' the general consensus seems to be Irish or Celtic origin.
It's also know as 'the jolly beggarman' among other things.
