The "15 Ways" video has exercise suggestions good for anyone playing old time tunes. It's tips on how to get to know a little melody like this well enough to feel free to add some variation. ...just food for thought.
The Traditional Tune Archive has some great info on "Sail Away Ladies". It was made famous when "Uncle Bunt" Stevens won the Henry Ford World Fiddling Championship with this tune in 1926!
