@Little Prairie Girl -
I LOVE that tune!
You play beautifully & lovely video!
...love your dress, too! I have a good friend who belongs to a group that dresses for re-enactment - they did "Cowboy action shooting" at a nearby range. She loves it, but covid put a stop to everything, again. I grew up a good walking distance from the famous "Henry Ford Greenfield Village" loved early re-enactment all year round.
It's weird, I ran across your video about maybe 2weeks ago (your imagery is so befitting that tune) - I was searching to find the differences between tunes of similar titles to "Down by the Sally Gardens".
Noticed your video/sound was a little out of sync - I'm not knowledgeable in that area, but I'm sure someone here can help you with that.
Very nice that you played both parts.
Thank you for sharing this, I really enjoyed it!

Thanks!
Emily, yes, the video is a little out of sync. I've been working on that! I'm rather a newbie as far as video-editing is concerned.... I've often wondered why the two tunes are named so similarly myself. Especially as one seems to be a pipe tune?

I would like to have heard more of your violin though and less of the piano.
I would like to hear less piano as well, lol! I actually don't LIKE the sound of piano that much, but it's the only accompaniment I can play! Also, the audio program I use makes it impossible to mix, so I can really turn it down to an acceptable level....

@ELCBK it depends on the software being used. Id record me playing..save as an mp3 then play that back in my ear for the other takes as I record each scene. The software I use allows me to see the audio track waveforms so when all the recording is done its a matter of getting alignment close by visually matching the waveforms up..then fine adjusting by ear. but it depends on what you have available to use. thats just how Ive done it since you asked and it can be a pain unless youre wanting to spend time on it. if multiple cameras are available i suppose you could set up different camera angles (as long as location is the same) and do 1 take and line those up on tracks.
but..you may not be looking for it to be synchronized and may be aiming more for a thoughful here is a person playing violin and have the audio track as background which is cool too.

Really good job!
Since your audio program makes you unable to lower the volume of the piano, I can't help you there, but with syncing the video to the audio I try to have the recording somewhere that I can hear while I recorded the video (back when I did outdoor videos, I usually had my phone in a back pocket playing the recording, because I didn't have wireless earbuds). Then I add the audio track onto the video and slowly and carefully sync up the sound from there, it's all a lot of watching fingers and listening. Now I just record it all together, but if I record my audio track to a separate program while I record the video I have to sync it back up... and then a couple time with totally phone recorded videos youtube plays them slightly out of sync... no clue how that even happens, lol.
I just use iMovie, and I'm still learning, and it's all trial and error. I've wanted to get a better program, but I can't justify the expense for my silly videos, and iMovie was free, lol.

Thank you for trying to help me! Fiddlerman, I use audacity for the audio (it's free!) and the old version of Window's Movie Maker for the video. Aligning the video and audio is kind of hard with this combination because it doesn't (as far as I can tell) let me adjust in less-than-one-second increments.

Not that you should switch from what your doing because you make great videos already using what you have..this is only a thought because i saw it there and it might help...youtube studio under your youtube account MAY allow smaller divisions. I havent experimented with it so I dont know for sure.
