Hi Sam! A very good s l o w attempt. It is not easy. But that is the only way to achieve perfection. Don't worry about wrist position. With regular practice it will come naturally. Only thing you have to practice is to smile either at the beginning or at the end of your videos. Happy with your use of 4th finger.
Good luck.

Thanks peeps.
No suresh sadly I have not gotten the photos back yet, I am presently trying to figure out how to decrypt the disk image I have of my iPhone. At least I have the image so I still have some hope.
Although I am sad because I keep going to look for specific photos and they aren't there any more

Your thoughts please Ladies and Jelly-spoons
This weeks I have a surprise for you all...
My D string seems to have started reverbing a lot, I'm not sure what's going on there.
Also a couple of out takes, staring my wife and baby...

Sam, I'm no expert, but to my beginner ear, your intonation sounds mostly very good. Good smile effort on the first one, and you even overcame much assistance from the baby on the third one!
Keep up the good work.
Thanks Dee

I hear the buzzing it seem mainly when you play an F or E on the D string. If you are holding the string down enough then you might have a problem with yor bridge too low or the fingerboard warping up. If you can play on the D tring and slopwly slide up the string to find where it starts to buz and where it stops then hold the string in th middle of that and see how close it is to the fingerboard or if it touchees it anywhere. Let us know what you find. Forgot, take a measurement of the space between the end of the fingerboard and the D string.

Your baby looks like he/she wants to tune your violin to her liking Anyhow, you are doing a fine job. I know those two songs, along with the Happy BDay song, and keep practicing all everyday. I have started trying to learn over the rainbow, and that one is kicking my butt.
Am glad to see that am not the only one who has his wife and baby in the same room as I practice, I guess you know how hard it is to focus with them on the room I try to go hide in the closet, but anywhere I go, they seem to follow me, maybe I should start screeching more to scare them away...
Good job!

Hi Sam! There is improvement, no doubt. Keep it up. Try to keep your fingers as close to the strings as possible. (I am not able to keep them close to the strings - but preaching you). Good video angle for 'how to hold a bow'.

Hey, Sam! Thank You for the videos =) Seems like your baby is very interested with the violin....
As FiddlerMan said
It sounds like the D string is touching something when it is vibrating. Check your fine tuners, make sure they are not too loose or tightened down so much that something is touching under the violin....
I get exactly the same sound on EViolin when my fine tuners are loosen too much...
PS @ Suresh:

Yeah - the same problem =)

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies, sorry I am so slow to respond. I had last week off work, which naturally meant doing nothing I wanted and doing a lot of DIY
I have retuned my violin letting some fine tuner off and tightening the pegs as the bridge looked a tiny bit backwards, it is now straight. I have checked and my strings are 7mm above the end of the finger board and as far as I can see my D string is not touching anything when I bow it. The tail piece is well clear of the the shoulder rest also.
Could it be the ends of other strings touching it by the pegs?
I just tried to practice and the screeching is doing my head in, I had to stop which makes me sad
If you can think of anything else to check I would really appreciate it.
P.S. I got my new bow clip, thanks Pierre.
