oh.. I don't even know.. because I didn't learn them.. LOL

But you know the "rules".... if you can slur on a jig... or the only time you can slur on a jig.

I don't know.  I didn't learn them.  In the past they intimidated me... now I

JUST PLAY... HTFIW.... "however the frick I want"

ha ah..

All kidding aside... I will take time to learn some of the "rules" and ins and outs of certain music... nice to know it and the history... and the reasons in all seriousness.

Rules can be confused with tradition CPO.
Those who change tradition are sometimes innovators. :) You are not really supposed to vibrate when playing Baroque but it's super rare that you hear great soloists play Bach without vibrato. Now a days I'm very happy to hear someone play non-vibrato and make the performance very special at the same time.

But don't get me wrong, I like tradition and innovation.... The second being harder to achieve with acceptable success of course.

@Fiddlerman thank you for your input on the matter.  I completely get what you are saying.

I appreciate tunes played in a variety of ways as well.   :)  Thanks!

Ohhhhh yeaaaaa.  Now that was excellent!  I've just been waiting to get through my next recital to start learning this.  Good job.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.
