As you may or may not know one of my other passions besides music is videography/filmmaking. One of the issues with making films and using them various places is music restrictions, so I've started messing around with making my own music. So I started this project I'm calling The Banjola Project because they are basically songs where I'm just using Banjo, Viola, and Garageband to make the songs. Some of these are actually more songs, while most are just a series of loops (I play several different licks then layer them together with a beat). Anyway, hope someone finds it interesting :D.

Awesome! I like the happy banjo beats the most but all great.  Church Beat sounds like it would be playing during one of those spy drama shows where the characters are planning their next move.. :)   good stuff

Is the banjola project kinda like an old time type backing channel on youtube?  Sorta like what mydarnjamtracks or elevatedjamtracks has done for guitar?

Awesome.  I'm really enjoying these.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

No, it's just tracks that I came up with and sharing. I've wanted to do this for a long time, and while my wife was gone for 2.5 weeks I turned our little office into a music studio and in the evenings would sit down and try and crank out a song each night.

Cool.

Hey I watched some of the colonels of truth videos.  In the squirrel hunters...youve got some immense concentration..lol.. You were being summoned it looked like.  I dont know how you get rid of the performance nerves let alone... Was cute though..great fiddlin sir!

Haha I'll have to go find which one you are talking about. For me I still can get performance nerves, but I find that

* knowing your material very well (both your parts and with a band)

* Having musicians that you know have your back when you mess up

* And lots of practice

Videoing your self is a great way to simulate some of the nerves that come with performance.
