Thanks Greg, great tune isn't it, I will have to learn scatter the mud to go with it. Like I said not had much chance to do any playing at All lately, you may notice the colour of my room has changed, and I have been doing a lot of buying work, new roof windows All kinds of things, thanks for the comment.
Katie, the way to hit the right note with your little finger is quite simple really put your first finger on b on the a string and play it, then put your second finger on d, play it, then put your ring finger on e and play it, don't lift any fingers up as you play the sequence. Do the same sequence on d string and e string, gaps between notes I mean, then practice a thousand times
your ears have to be good, and be able to recognise when you are sharp or flat as you are actually playing, and not just when you record it and play it back. I now play in tune Most of the time without having to constantly record myself but its taken a few years and I am still sharp and flat now and again, I now have a teacher if I want one, she is in a folk rock group, but to be honest, I think I wouldn't get much better than I am now. I know my limits.

@stringy -
Really nice tune! ...going on my list!
Appreciate you shared this - enjoyed your playing!
If you are at a point you are not 'fixing' obvious things anymore - might be the perfect time to seek out that teacher. Let her hear you & tell you what she can offer/help you with - so you can decide if it's worth pursuing any lessons. ...I still have a few more things to work on, but that's been my plan all along - only I'll have to do it with ZOOM.
Have you been able to find a local group you might like to jam with?
I hope, once we finish getting our house in order, I can invite folks over to jam.

Thanks for taking a look, and for the comment Emily. Lovely tune isn't it, I should play it a bit quicker, and there are a lot of variations as well, but like I said to Greg not had much time, with all the stuff going on.
You are probably right about the teacher, may give it a go, don't know yet though, I am a bit indecisive.
I have been asked to join in a bit of a project with other musicians, who need a fiddle player, when I get something done with them I will post a recording on here, I need an electric fiddle though, as they are amplified. They listened to my fiddle playing and asked if I wanted to join in, to be honest I don't have much confidence with violin, as I am a guitarist really and singer, as I have said before, didn't think I would get to the point with fiddle were I may have to play along with others, bit daunting. I was singing with others not long back if you remember but not much came of it.
Also getting a bit of a uke thing together when I get the time, (thats supposed to start next saturday)
