Still working on this one, but haven't shared anything here in a while so thought I'd share this. Learned this by ear a few weeks back from Katy Adelson's version, and have been working to get it fast and clean sounding.

Wow Mandy, so much improvement since last time I heard you play. That was truly enjoyable. Congratulations and keep up the great work.

Thanks, @Fiddlerman :) I think my elbow injury made me work a little harder when I was able to start playing again, and then focus harder when I need to keep my practice sessions short :)

I love that one! Well played! :)

Glad to hear your elbow's improved as well; it's a worry when something like that affects your playing.

Then something good really can come from something bad. :)

Obviously not good that your elbow is an issue but perhaps you are being more careful too now.

Thank you @Uzi @Mark and @CharlieStrings :) I am having fun with this one :) I've been tweaking my bowing a little bit on it, trying to get it the best that I can at my level, and having fun with it :) I would like to do a better recording of it.

@Fiddlerman It did help me in some ways, slows me down in others, but overall I think it made me work harder and with how much I missed playing when I just couldn't, made me know that I still really enjoy playing. I've had to quit my lessons for the summer, since my bad elbow and yard work don't mix well, I knew I couldn't keep up the kind of practice I needed to keep paying for lessons, but I'm hoping to get in a fill in lesson this month so I don't start sliding backwards. I think lately I'm mostly holding steady rather than progressing. But I'm having more fun just playing tunes as I've put aside my etude book during this lesson break.

The common denominator in your posts is "FUN", and that is what it's all about. Keep having fun and proceed with caution so that you can do this your whole life.

@Fiddlerman I am having fun :) I am trying to figure out ways to keep playing that don't aggravate old injuries, or cause new ones.

I decided to make a better video of The Peacock's Feathers. Doing these kind make me work a little harder at getting the tune down, and then I have to work on playing in "public", even if sometimes my public was just a wild turkey, haha

Thanks, @Mimi Aysha :) I just need my video editing skillz to get better, haha. But I love this little spot. It's a little historic village put together in the Cleveland Metroparks, which is cute and gives a lot of different background options, but it's also really close to the Cleveland airport, so unless I feel like trying to get my playing in between take off and landings of the planes, I have to try and play along to a prerecorded track. It's hard to hear that track playing and then my editing skillz aren't there for pairing the video and audio together. But it's fun trying, haha!

OH thats funny, short songs I guess!...I never knew Cleveland was so pretty, at least where you are at. It's really hot here, and a bit hard to play outside, I did try in the morning once, such freedom!.... but once that camera starts rolling I freeze and mess up, or maybe I mess up all the time but only see it when recorded....ha!

Maybe I need to put up a blooper vid - my husband watched one, and I thought he was so touched by my playing but they were tears of laughter....not very encouraging! He can't video me either cause he gets all serious then I start laughing.

Obviously, your skills are getting better in every respect, including editing, but what also impressed me were your magical skills. The way you beam yourself into different locations like that. roflol

Fun video. Keep up the great work. I personally would probably prefer a bit less effects on the audio but you may not feel as comfortable doing that.

Haha, yes, over the past couple years I've done a couple live recordings there, and the tunes do have to be very short, haha.

It's been pretty hot here, too. We went straight from winter to middle of August type heat. We're getting a couple days break from it at the moment, which is nice.

There's a lot of pretty areas around Cleveland :) This is about 20 minutes from downtown, if you go up the hill out of the valley this park is in, and look down the airport runway, you can see straight to the Cleveland skyline, which is kind of cool. The Metroparks is a little gem of the area, though, and it's nicknamed the Emerald Necklace because of how it loops around the city.

I still freeze a bit in front of the camera, I do better if nobody else is watching me play. The part where I'm in front of the General store, some ladies were walking by and stopped to watch me, and I can see that I'm playing a bit more stiff compared to when nobody was within eyesight, haha.

@Fiddlerman Haha, it's my warping skills, haha.

The audio I'm just no good at editing, lol. I have a hard time getting it to sound natural, so I play around with it trying to fix it, and just mess it up more. I did play along with myself on another fiddle that is strung with octave strings, but I'm not sure I actually like how that turned out, I think it makes it sound a little weird, it just felt too lonely just having one instrument hanging out there, haha.

Actually, I heard that and wondered about that. The octave strings playing thing was cool. :)
