This was a late addition to my orchestra's March concert: a movie theme arranged for us by our conductor's son, who also played in the percussion section for this piece. (The original version is scored for a much larger orchestra.)
If you'll recall the Socially Distant Orchestra videos from 2020-21... in the wide-angle shots in this video you can see four musicians who played in the SDO's Pictures at an Exhibition and Rhapsody in Blue projects. Can you spot all four of us?

I was impressed by the arrangement too. Dante seems to have a good understanding of orchestration, which I guess shouldn't be that surprising because he's been around orchestras his whole life. Both of his parents are conductors. And he made junior high All-State orchestra on double bass himself.
If anyone was curious: other than me, the people you may have seen in Socially Distant Orchestra are the two violinists seated outside second and third stands in the first violin section, and the timpanist (bald gentleman standing in the back).
