I am very sorry for the unsteady hand and where I pointed to camera at times. I kept looking at the orchestra to make sure I saw Thomas and when doing so, looks as if I caught others in the orchestra. And I had no idea how much storage my video camera had so I took one video and looked to see if I had room for another, which i did. SO here are just two songs from the concert. The only thing that made him feel better(and still makes him feel good)is the fact that he was surrounded by girls, hahaha.

@JimandThomas -

WOO HOO!

Captured some great moments on video, to cherish for years to come!

You looked GREAT up there on stage, Thomas! 🤗

Think you'll be moving up to 1st chair before you know it. 😊

THANK YOU, for sharing this wonderful performance!

...bowing still an issue while playing seated?

FINALLY he is all good to go while seated @ELCBK , thank you for asking and he is practicing so hard because he wants that coveted chair more than anything. Going to try for it in August.

Very nice! Excellent, in fact! I noticed two things in particular, he is one of the few visible violinists to use vibrato and, much like my son, in the second video he was bouncing off his nervous energy with his leg before starting to play.

Great beginning, Thomas!

The first of many concerts I hope. 😁

The only thing that made him feel better(and still makes him feel good)is the fact that he was surrounded by girls, hahaha.

When I was a sophomore in high school I was the concert master in our school orchestra of about 40 members, and had a very popular senior year cheerleader as my stand partner. Looking back, I'm not sure if she was at all interested in me or just flattered that I was so into her LOL. But in any case, she gave me plenty of attention and I played into it as well. Girls loved the violin and thought it was so romantic.
Positive attention is one of the things that drives young people to work a bit harder.

Here is the official version and a little more professional than mine, hahahaha. THomases group is second out and watch him at the 22 minute mark. He is pretending to put the music Finale in front of him because he lost it. So he did the entire song from heart. He really does have remarkable memory and I told him to enjoy it while he can, LOL.
