I’m always a bit awkward in front of the camera, so stopped talking in my videos a long time ago, but decided to do a little bit of a practice video, so here’s me taking, being awkward and adding some ornaments into a tune I’m learning.

like that @damfino.  Thats how it goes most of the time isnt it..  the ornaments seem to find their way in there.  at least on stuff I work on alone. I like those fingered tripletts.  around 2:00 or so.  at least thats what it sounds like.

Cool video..like the idea.  hey keep 'em coming!  like your playing!

Great video, fun to watch others process here thoughts and reasoning on how to get a tune to sound the way you hear it in your head.

Also nice playing

@damfino -

LOVE your playing & really great that you took time to talk about it!

🤗 your birds were a wonderful addition - so much nicer than my cats meowing & pestering me (they're such critics). 🙄

It's nice to see how you experiment after learning a tune - I constantly try different bowings, ornaments, dynamics & phrasing.

Thanks for sharing this!

I love this. It's fun to see the process as you make this tune your own.

That was fantastic. You qnd your violin are one. It is such a treat and privilege to be allowed into your thought process. Thank you so much.

Thanks everyone   :) I never bother to record this kind of stuff, but then I sometimes forget a little ornament that I really liked, so decided to throw it out there :)

@ABitRusty My old fiddle teacher called those “a roll but not a roll”, lol. The tune already had part of the finger pattern so it fits if my fingers behave, lol. I just can’t over think it, or it messes me up.

@ELCBK Haha, my birds do love fiddling. They are little orphaned sparrows I raised, so they grew up around fiddle music and can’t resist chirping along with it. They love music.
