Thank you Jim and Gregg for comments on music and porch. I designed and built the porch awhile back. It sticks out a good bit from the house and wraps around the front and one side completely with a gazebo on the corner built in ( that's the part I'm sitting in). Back when I built it, it went WAY over budget. Mainly because I used Azek flooring boards. Not like deck boards, these interlock like wooden porch floor boards.
The good news is I shouldn't ever need to paint it.

Nice one @starise - thanks for sharing that !
I did PMOTPDay last year with a couple of friends - and was signed up for this year as well, but, for various reasons, it fell through.... no matter, another one next year !!!
Thanks again, cool !

@Pete_Violin, Thanks for asking, Unfortunately Utah is a little off my beaten path. If you ever get by this way though I hope you'll stop by with the violin we can play a few tunes on the porch! I'll provide food and beverages free. I can't guarantee the house will be cleaned though.
BillyG, Sorry you missed it this year. I find that kind of thing fun with a few players. I was invited to go to one with more people but it was too far to go on that day, so it was just me here at the house. Not as much fun with one, but it is what it is. It was a narrow window for weather. Raining like cats and dogs here now. All the trees are turning off. Looks like fall is very close now.

Yeah @starise - that's really the reason it didn't happen this year, my planned participants weren't available - but - like yourself - heck I should have just done a take anyway....
Without any intention of hijacking your thread, and since it's related - somewhere below is my PMOTPDay vid from last year with my neighbours Bill and Pauline - Bill on harmonica and Pauline on Bb clainet - that day was the first time we ever played together - honestly - no practice never played together - we just sat down and did what we could - it was TERRIBLE to start with but we got better once we got into the groove - nevertheless it was 100++++% fun !!!!
I think we should have a permanent ( well, you've started it already here @starise ) PMOTPDay thread... yeah... good idea... Let's keep it alive for next year as well! It's your idea, yeah !
Here's last year's one from myself and neighbours -
All very stumbling beginnings, but it eventually almost comes together - see that Bb clar - what an awesome and lovely sound - I should have made things easier for us all by re-tuning my fiddle a semi-tone up all round (and the other Bill, instead of the harmonica, could have played his (also re-tuned - which I later discovered he does) mandolin... makes it easier for the clarinet player.... but we didn't think about that in advance...

Indeed @Pete_Violin - with the wonder of the internet, shared (each player's own, publically, or marked private but shared) on you tube - sure - we can bring them all together. Probably never gonna be as "clean a mix-down" as @Fiddlerman does for his group projects
Once more I need to apologize to the OP @starise - never my intent to hijack your post, although I should mention I had drawn PMOTPDay to members' attention in previous years and had no meaningful response (and, well, fair enough, sure, lots of folks aren't interested/happy/willing to share - not a problem - was just where we were at the time)
But sure - we can do this - as you say -

@starise @BillyGThat would be so much fun! A little jam session! All three of us.
100% up for that.
We have 12 months for a "virtual PMOTPDay trio" ( or MORE participants if possible please !!!!!!! )
Let's think of some pieces we would play.... ( either individually, or, just possibly in concert, if we have common ground - like the "I Am Your Sunshine" mini project I put together some time back - but that takes some planning and a shared play-along track - it's possible - and that little project "came close" - but didn't really have sufficient players to mix-down-(and fade-out in places) to make it really good - but sure - it was OK - well - just passable - and as ever - totally fun and enjoyable, which is really all that matters at the end of the day. Frankly - I don't think we need to go that far - we can just put together a compilation of individual players (and their accompaniment, if any, assuming they are happy to be filmed and posted to YT etc )
Just idle thoughts on what Pete @Pete_Violin wrote.... talk to me about this by PM rather than on the @starise thread here - and we can get something planned. I'm happy to do all the mixing / video editing / final mix etc Personally, I'm SO happy to have some new and enthusiastic players who are happy to take part in some mini projects, awesome! In my 5 years here on the forum, I have seen folks come "from nothing" as raw beginners, to move on from the support we have all found here, on the forum, to progress their own path in fiddle jam sessions, and indeed in a couple of cases, to fine classical playing - love it !!!!
Yup @Pete_Violin and @starise - let's have a plan for PMOTPDay 2020
Bring It On !!!

Hey BillyG please feel no need to apologize.I really appreciate you posting this information and the videos! I enjoyed the videos you posted. This is a novel idea and I hope that we can do something similar again.Maybe next year on the same day.
I'm glad that you are knowledgeable of the event. If I had known about it further in advance I would have been more than willing to try to help organize something if help is needed.
Let's keep in touch and make something work!
