Aloha everyone,
Living in Honolulu, I am constantly reminded of Pearl Harbor Day, as I drive past Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on my way to work every day. I don't know of an adequate way to express my gratitude for all those service members there that day, both the ones who were lost and the ones that continued the fight.
I wanted to create something in memory of them, but also of all those for whom we fly our flag at half mast. In the recording, I included a military drum playing a simple rhythm, but didn't include it in the pdf file (it makes the score entirely too long - the drum roll is played by 64th notes) although I did include a contra bass part. I noticed that we had one bass player in our Christmas Project. I took my time on this one, as I really wanted to write something special. Please take a gander at this and let me know what y'all think.
