I'll be back on Wednesday. Until then I can't do much. If iBud needs help I'll be glad to assist at that time. :)
Thanks for all your hard work iBud.

Aloha @Fiddlerman,

I was under the impression that I was only handling the arrangement.  I don't have the skill set to handle video and audio production.  I apologize if I gave that impression.

I thought about the click track and decided that using the .mp3 to play against is a pretty good idea.  If everyone is OK with that, I think we should go in that direction.  If you like, I can make additional .mp3 files leaving out one of the violin parts.  In other words, if you would like to practice the Violin 1 part, I can make another .mp3 file leaving out Violin 1.  I can make others leaving out the others parts as well.  Let me know, as that can be done very quickly.

Since I can see and grab your MuseScore file from your previous post, I'd be happy to take a shot at adding the click to it.

The way I do it is to just add a percussion part (either a drum beat or cymbal...whatever stands out best), then export to .mp3.

That way, folks would still be playing along to your .mp3, but with a click to provide extra emphasis on the beat to keep everyone on tempo.

You can see what you think, then decide if you want to use it or not.

Christmas 2015 Project

Hi Everyone.

I Just Download the Violin Parts ...Music Sheets...for Happy Christmas War is Over. It sounds Great.

I have five 5 Clarity Questions

Clarity 1 of 5 = Is there a Cello part(s).  I cannot see links.  I would be grateful for a Cello link.

Clarity 2  of 5 = When is the SUBMISSION DEADLINE???

Clarity 3 of 5 =  Is There A Christmas COSTUME Requirement???

Clarity 4 of 5 =  Is there A Limit on the Number who can participate...or Instruments to be played by one person.... I think this time I would Like to participate with my Cello.  So would the advice be to Just play the Cello???

Clarity 5 of 5 = VIDEO Merges/ Split Screens.  I adore Fiddlerman's Split Screen/multi-content/Composition Video Output.   Does anyone know of the SOFTWARE...or a good software to use to.... MERGE TWO (2) and More Videos into a project???

Thanks in anticipation of a reply... It seems to be a guaranteed pleasurable/memorable Christmas activity.

... I believe, once Pierre returns from holiday he'll be transposing some of @iBud 's parts for other instruments ( viola, cello )

Clarity 2  of 5 = When is the SUBMISSION DEADLINE???

... Again, on his return, I guess FM will let us know

Clarity 3 of 5 =  Is There A Christmas COSTUME Requirement???

 ... Going by last year, yes, a little seasonal dress is to be welcomed

Clarity 4 of 5 =  Is there A Limit on the Number who can participate...or Instruments to be played by one person.... I think this time I would Like to participate with my Cello.  So would the advice be to Just play the Cello???

 ... As far as I am aware there is no limit to the number of participants, nor is there a limit to the number of parts (or instruments) played - so you could submit both Cello and violin 1 / 2/ 3 etc if you wish - but generally, only one video submission is used - but the audio from all your other parts will be mixed in

Clarity 5 of 5 = VIDEO Merges/ Split Screens.  I adore Fiddlerman's Split Screen/multi-content/Composition Video Output.   Does anyone know of the SOFTWARE...or a good software to use to.... MERGE TWO (2) and More Videos into a project???

... I use the NCH Videopad editor ( it is not freeware - but not expensive either - ( I used it to produce this joint effort -     - perfectly acceptable )

.......

EDIT : I believe there actually is a "free version" of the NCH Videopad editor for "home use" - just google the words....

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Thanks Bill.

We can decide together on the deadline. I want to have a few weeks to be safe before Christmas and usually Monday is good to give many of you a chance to record over the weekend. Let's say Dec 7th for now. :)

I use Final Cut Pro but it's costly. A free app for Mac is iMovie. Works great.

Aloha @PlayAgain,

I arranged both a cello and viola part, but @Fiddlerman suggested just the four violin parts.  I'll include the sheet music for the cello for you.  As for the number of instruments/parts you'd like to play, submit as many as you'd like.  The normal rule is that for those that submit a Violin 1 part, they must also submit at least one other part.  I don't know of any limit to the number of parts/instruments anyone can submit.

Disregard the Fortissimo marking on the cello part.  The violins were drowning the cello out, so I made it louder, then forgot to remove that marking.  Sorry for overlooking that.

Aloha @Fiddlerman,

You can still put everything together, correct?  I should be able to record at least one part by the 7th.

@PlayAgain - you're welcome !

There are a number of "tricky things" you need to do ( and would have to in any such editor I guess - like splitting the audio out from the video file, matching the levels and so on ).   In fact, I take the audio out entirely and take the two audio tracks into Audacity (anther freeware program) to manually "line them up and adjust levels", then take that mix back into VideoPad, and disable the original audio on both video tracks, leaving just the final mix from Audacity as the only audible sound track on the composite video.....

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

@iBud do you have a midi file for the track i can download?. Its easier for me to play along with musescore software. Im very new at this so being able to see the notes highlight as I play along is really helpful along with a tooooon of rewinding. ?

Here is the latest.  There are no changes, IIRC, but here is the latest export.

Is there a final version yet?

To Aloha and BillyG

+++++

To Aloha

Thanks for the Cello Music Sheet.  I have downloaded it

There seams to be a multiple of... Cello FINGERING Options... And Fast Finger Actions required due to the interval location distances on the Cello Fingerboard.  However it only takes a session(s)...  to get it under the cello belt.  Worthwhile pursuit as its a GREAT SONG.

+++++++++

To BillyG

Thanks for the additional information on Video.Split Screen Editing process.  I found some instruction tutorials on UTUBE....

 I don't think the Split Screen process will be as Difficult as  writing a Musically Correct "Chorale Harmonization in the Syle of Bach".....  I am looking forward to the Video learning Journey rough or smooth.  and I try and POST a copy of my First Split Video Success.
