Hey guys,

Fedex is shooting footage of us at Fiddlershop and they are wondering if I could get video of any members playing along with my videos at home.

If any of you are willing to share something like that, for example one of my,"A Tune a Week" Videos.... Please let me know. This would be greatly appreciated.

There might be something in it for you, such as a set of strings or similar. :)

Thanks everyone

Can you share a link for one that is a simple one with just F# and C# in it? I still get my keys confused. Key of D (maybe)? No incidentals. I would be willing. I have major issues with C natural and it really throws me. I am working on it, but not ready to record anything with it. Did my Danny Boy come from you? Oh, it will say on the print out. But anything you can link me to would be great.

Just a couple of guick questions, did you want to see your video playing in the submitted video and the individual following along? Or just one of the tunes? Want one with the traveler?

Just curious on what format there thinking.

I'm not sure what they are looking for. I posted this in response to an email that I received from Fedex. We were bronze price winners from among 7000 plus contestants and they are going to shoot some footage to use with the next small business grant.
Here is what they requested and I was hoping for help with #3

1. Footage or photos of you (Pierre) in a tux, on stage.
2. Llocal customers who play along to your videos at home?
3. Videos of customers playing along to your stuff.

Perhaps just members working on my videos. Maybe it would be even more interesting if they could see someone playing along with me. I'm not super creative so your guesses are as good as mine. :)

Creative? Don't look at me I was left out of that department!

I'll send you something that you can try to use, laugh at, burn, cover you ears and eyes, etc.

How much time do you have? That would make a difference as to what your options are.

If you don’t have a lot of time, could you use one of the videos you all did as a group already? You could use the newest one. I don’t know the date of the newest one, but I think the last one made would be the best to use, more reflective of your current play along group.

Just a thought. That is, as long as it is not a Holiday song, if so, the newest non-holiday play along. Not sure you would have enough time to put another one of those together again.

I kind of like the idea of you having a local customer playing along with you. You sell violins, violas and cellos. Get a local customer for each of the instruments and use a song at a level of everyone.

You would play violin with another violinist, but different parts, you have viola and cello playing along.

Heck, you could do it in front of your store  or in the parking lot and get a big audience and the camera could get the audience once in a while, but mostly the people playing.

Just a thought.

If you like the outdoors option, make sure there is a spot ready inside to use in case the weather does not cooperate.

Thinking of the business relation end of it Stand by Me seems like a good tune choice.

Sounds like fun .If it can be any video, although I like the idea of "Stand by me" .I'll be doing it with the viola. Is there a deadline? MP4 format?

You're welcome to use this one if it's any use. I doubt they'll play a whole song, so they can use one of the good bits.

If there were time and a few people, doing the tune a week for Row Row Row Your Boat would be fun to play the audio as the tune being played as a round (with at least one of the videos having the person record so you can see your video on the computer screen while they play).

I was thinking of one of the other pieces @Fiddlerman did (as distinct from the Tune a Week) - "On Raglan Road" which is real nice to play along to, especially as Pierre's part is "rich" with lots of double stops - real nice tune... here's his video link -

Thanks everyone. I'm not sure when they will need it but I think we are seeing them next week. Then they need to edit and mix some clips.

@Fiddlerman - here's a possibility for something that can be done really quickly - will promote both your efforts and showing the involvement of quite a number of members -

Re-visit your group projects, clipping a few seconds of video from a chosen few, cross-fade each clip into the next, mute the audio on all of them, but add in the audio from one group-project behind the linked video clips....  possibly finishing with the actual video for the audio being played ... QED  ( Quick Edit, Done ! )

:)

I agree with @BillyG that the easiest thing would be to pull from your group projects.

While many of us learned from various videos, I think most of us recorded the results and not the process with the video playing.
