Aloha everyone,
I really wanted to get back to 6/8 time and a nice, happy tune in G major. I was thinking of how it felt to get back to our homeport after a 9-month Mediterranean Cruise. While foreign ports are really nice in the Med, there's nothing like getting back home. You have significant others waiting for you on the pier and your family and friends with whom to connect (everyone tries to make as much leave as possible upon arrival). There's also that feeling of being connected - you're finally back in the country you understand and to which you belong. I tried to capture all of that in this tune. Please take a gander at it and let me know what y'all think.

@iBud - You have serious talent, my friend. Wow.
The only problem I had with this tune is that I did not imagine coming back to a home port (probably because I have never experienced this). Instead, my mind went to green Irish fields and snow capped mountains. It has a definitively celtic feel to it. I could almost imagine a group of my buddies sitting around with a Guiness and enjoying this tune.
Either way, it's a cool little piece. May also have to download this one and get started learning it!

Aloha @kylesito,
I'm stoked that you like this one. I wasn't going for an Irish drinking song in the mountains, but I'll take it
After several long months at sea, going from one foreign country to another, it's really good to get back home. You'll get some of the same feelings with your mates in a pub over a large Guiness as well!
How do you like the inclusion of the bass part? I was going to score a piano part, but I like the bass better. It's simple and doesn't get in the way of the fiddle, plus I really love the sound of stringed instruments. I'm just a little biased that way now
