Here it is - the very first [as far as I know] shoutbox composed song for the Fiddlerman website. Now we just need music to set the lyrics to. Jim? anybody?

I'm sitting in a corner, playing fiddle songs - watching while the chatbox keeps scrolling on

I don't know the tune, but I play another line - I keep the bow straight and steady every time

I'm sitting in the corner playing fiddle songs, hoping some other fiddlers will come along

Oooh, I like it.  This is clearly the beginning of the next Fiddlerman International Youtube project: group composition and performance.

If I could see the Chatbox
I'm sure I'd join in
Why should they be the only ones
Making all this din

(becoming the blues all of a sudden)

I am amazed at how old people of my age are.....

Some call it a fiddle

Others, a violin

I don't care either way

Not playing is a sin....

My hand is almost slapping my thigh already!
( that's an observation not the next line of verse, violin-student)

This to me is a country song absolutely. Who sings here?

"The richest person is not the one who has the most,
but the one who needs the least."

My hand is slapping my thigh

My bow just went really high

I can't find the right string

I'm too drunk to make this thing sing!

.....

Definitely a country song, lol

Oh dear, Dio! I read your first post, and only after reading the replies did I realise that was your song verse, and not just words in a post! Duh! LOL

Well, here's what popped into my head after reading them : just bashed out a first take ...

Hold on ya'll..... its not a true country song until we add lyrics about a dog dying, throwing momma from the train, going mudding in the rusted pick-up truck and fishing. banana

We could go a little less morbid and just have the dog run away.  No doubt it was to escape the screeching. tongue

OK,we have lyrics and a tune - now who has a good country singing voice to put it all together?

serenade

Don't make me sing!! That is a fate worse than death [for the listener, that is - I have no shame, as has already been established].

Love that Saturday Night Live skit.

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

Ha ha ha - I was just speculating on the shoutbox with KindaScratchy as to whether you would volunteer! Study up on Jim's tune and give us a demo

Ok, I will... Ready to leave in a bit for a gig tonight then this weekend I need to go through He's a Pirate project as I have not even listened to that song yet. And need to get a couple videos in quick. This coming week I'll go back through this post and put in some vocals and hope my wifey Sandra will too. She sings like nobody's business ;-)
