Aloha everyone,
I wrote this last tune in two days, a relatively longish time for me, but the advanced version came out really well. I can almost play it - there are a couple of trouble spots, but they're coming along. When I get to a "presentable" take, I'll post it. I have a basic and advanced version of this tune. Try the basic one first - the advanced is a bit tougher. I've included the audio for both and the sheet music for the basic version. Enjoy!

Great job. Also, I love the title.
Aloha @Fiddlerman,
Thanks for the compliment. This has now become my favorite tune, until I write the next one, that is
I thought you might like that title, although I'm at the point where titles are harder to create than the tunes I was remembering what it felt like, as a young(er) man, when everything was going perfectly on any particular day - you washed your car and it is sparkling, you got a positive response from the person on whom you have a crush for a date night, you aced your exam, ...
I was also trying to add ornamentation to this tune, while at the same time "keeping it simple". I forced myself to only use the 1-4-5 progression while keeping it in one of the major keys that resonate well with the violin. I came up with the basic version rather quickly, but the ornamentation took a little bit longer. I actually had a different C section, but didn't like it, so completely rewrote it yesterday. I especially like how the grace note B to A sounds. I used grace notes both below and above the main note for that beat. I normally try to establish some sort of consistency with all of the various elements I employ, but I couldn't quite achieve that with the grace notes this time. All in all, though, I think it really came together nicely. I'm going to try this style, as well as the syncopated 6/8 meter style, a bit more in the future. I like the ability to come up with a basic tune that can be really embellished with ornamentation.
EDIT: I play to upload a video to YouTube, or audio to SoundCloud, of me playing this tune, albeit without a contrabass for accompaniment, within the next week or two. I have to polish off a couple of areas that deal namely with string crossings - how to get to the next string and release the finger on the first string without allowing that first string to vibrate. I'm really excited by the fact that I can actually play the advanced version!
