I indicated in the Share Video thread--linked here: https://fiddlerman.com/forum/s.....#p133589
that I played some tunes from this book with some others for St Pat’s day:
For anyone looking for some assistance in practicing basic note reading, this book may be helpful (there is also a Viola version).
The book lists two versions of each tune – Basic & Advanced. The Basic Tune is a simpler version, and has the note names printed in the note heads.
Additionally, after the Basic & Advanced versions, there is a backup part, which is based on the chords & a rhythm pattern.

@SharonC -
GREAT looking book!
Thanks, Sharon!
I've gotten some small books for the Grandkids with either color-coded notes or the letters in the notes like that (great idea) for Christmas tunes - really would love to have them trying Celtic tunes, too.
My Grandkids have a keyboard & a few other instruments. It would be different if there were only maybe 2 kids, but I have to face facts - my 7 little Angels can become The Army of Darkness (sometimes)! There's still one in the group that needs to get about another year older before a little wooden violin would be safe in that house!
