(Pay no attention to the title.)

Some brave soul asked to hear my new violin and I accept any excuse to play it.

I chose a simple song so the violin could sing on it's own merit and any "wrong" notes are my fault.  I also lost the last few bars of the melody but c"est la vie.

My recording technique is non existent I simply plug in a lot of things and avoid being strangled until I see something called "mp3".

This violin, in real life, is one of the best I've played but I could not afford the others.

Oh, that violin does sound lovely indeed. Nice song choice, too. I love "Rainbow Connection."

The best part of the story is that I walked into a small violin shop that I knew where they knew and liked my violin.  I said that I did not like my violin but I liked one that they had for sale.  So, in true country style, we just agreed to do an even, no cash swap.  But I can't tell my wife that I have a new violin. She would think I spent more money.

Very nice Oliver. Like your way of entertaining us at the same time as we get the sample. I won't tell you wife about the violin. You can count on me.thumbs-up

The shop just confirmed today (e-mail) that the no-cash deal is OK after they checked out my original violin.  So, I was at ease to tell my wife about it and then, in her relaxed state, I confessed to the $40 re-hair charge (Which she would see on the credit card statement which is why I don't like credit cards!)

She's coming around after hearing my serenade.  She even went to WalMart and bought me a large plastic storage box (under bed kind) to keep the violin under museum conditions but, in AC here, it popped the "A" peg.  All OK however.

She did not know I had the new violin for a few days and even commented how good it sounded.  She liked Rainbow Connection.

I made up an arrangement for the forum but something is going wrong.  Can you see attachment ?   Your site doesn't like my JPEG ?  Says I have wrong MIME?

Guess I missed the thread about Vengerov, but thanks for the video of the fearless little bird. That was quite amazing.

Your audio performance was very good.  Thanks for sharing!

"Vengerov" was in the SIGNATURE of one our members (NV).

Yeah, I'm waiting for MGN to make note that the bird chose the guitar laugh

My audio post was supposed to be about my new violin (did I make that clear?) which continues to amaze me every day.  A good sounding violin even makes me sound better dazed
