Aloha everyone,

I really, really love this song, but was unable to get the sheet music until this morning, thanks to The Hot Violinist.  I wanted to share this as she went to some trouble illustrating the various ornaments used throughout.  It's not as easy as I would like :D but the melody is easy enough to pick out.  Enjoy!

Omigosh... I love this!  I too have a copy from Jenny, Hot Violinist.

It is on my bucket list. I learned a few of the rolls a year or so ago and I do plan to get it out again.

I listen to it often and hope (will) play it some time in the future.

Do I see a winter project in our future?

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

It's a great idea. Let's hear what others have to say. :)

Aloha @Fiddlerman,

Do you have any parts for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th violin?  I, at this point, am scared to look at the sheet music for anything other than the basic melody, but could probably hack a bit at the other parts.  If they are not written, maybe someone here can take a stab at it.

I'd love to do this but, like iBud, would need to probably play the background parts.

Aloha everyone,

I did a Google search and found a MuseScore version, this one with Violin 1 and 2 and Cello.  It looks a bit easier, but I haven't played it yet.  Enjoy!

Thank you for sharing this sheet music! I used to listen to this song in high school all the time. And at the time I was too busy learning mariachi music that I never took the time out to just learn this tune. :)

I just gave the five note roll a shot. It's actually not too hard to get the hang of. Is this piece in C major, though? Something about seems off, but that could just be me.

At the risk of working on too much at once, I sure love this song also.  I have a simpler version that I tried some months ago.  Now that I am more capable of rolls and grace notes, it is easier.  This version is just violin and guitar, FYI.  I would be game to try it as a group project with the parts noted above.

It definitely has an intriguing spell to it, but IMO, is repetitious and boring. Same thing over and over no real melody to it.

But that's just me.  facepalm

I get what you're saying, but the five note roles are a lot of fun to play and I think it'd be good practice for speed playing.

It really is a great song.  I would seriously have to up my game though to perform it for a project.  Can't wait to try though!

This is one of my all time favs.

Unfortunately I tried it out before I was ready.

I still have the sheet and I do listen to some of Jenny HV vids and I will tackle it someday.  I adore it.
