so the sheet music posted by intrepidgirl must be the 'fiddle' variation on the main theme, in the scene where is some merry making and Daniel Day Lewis makes his move on Madeline Stowe, Yes?
I tried to learn it by ear quite a while ago, and came pretty close I think, but fiddling is difficult for me, and was just too much work.
But I did learn the main theme which is simpler and more melodic, and I use it as one of my busking tunes.
....one of my favorite movies, and I also luv the main theme and the fiddle variation.
now would that be Scottish or Irish fiddle!?
..how 'bout that last scene where Chingachgook dives and rolls under Magua's blow and wacks him from behind with that thing he has for a weapon. Now that's entertainment!
oh yeah, I went back and watched the Taylor Davis vid. She does a waaaaay better version of the main theme than I do. excellent!

Probably the most of the members here aren't old enough to remember the "1957" TV series, "The Last of the Mohicans", I remember it well and watched most all of the 39 episodes.
Here is one episode.

Ken.

well, I was born in '53 but I still remember that show. but unlike fiddlerman, I will resist watching that episode.
personally, I'd rather watch Fireball XL5. I had a crush on Venus, she was a very hot puppet. It also had a very cool theme song. you can you tube the additional verses that were not included in the TV show.
