A while back, I posted a topic called, What's In Your Case and to my surprise, everyone started to post pictures of all the interesting things they've collected in their cases! Anything from the essentials like rosin, spare strings, etc. all the way to the head-scratching items that made you wonder: "How the heck did that get in there?"
Well, I came across this article/gallery that reminded me of that post. Although, it's not dealing with your case, but with your violin! ....and some other instruments as well! LOL
I wanted to share this with everyone! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
So, what's in YOUR violin?

Cool pics, Eric, but where's the sound post ?
I would imagine a sound post would look like a huge pillar...kinda like something out of Gladiator! LOL
There's one picture where you can almost imagine it being a concert hall. I would love to see this on a much larger scale with an orchestra playing on the "stage" and the crowd above listening through the F-holes! That would be one heck of a concert!

Hmm...I wonder if my wife would let me have a room like that. She already shot down of my ideas of having a Hobbit hole and those cool looking fortress doors. Being a musician herself, this might go over better!

those pics are really nice.
That first instrument has had extensive repairs on it. there were at least 10 large cracks on the face plate and a split and crack in the ribs near the endpin. the 2 part back plane was glued back with cloth patching. the only evidence I see of a sound post in the repaired portion near the F-hole on the left side. It looks like the post maybe punched through the face plate. honestly, it looks like a cello body and not a violin. The bass bar is really long and there is what appears to be a tailspike hole. I have no idea about the lateral bracing inside it.
I love that image though. all the little crannies for debris, spiders and dust bunnies to live in. An old fiddler I know uses rice dumped into the F-holes and rolls it around to shake the debris from his. then rocks it back and forth , F-holes down, until it all drops back out. WOW does it bring a lot of other debris with it.
