Found this great archive of tunes!
Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton, Québécois, Old Time and a huge variety of other Folk music!
There's a lot of tunes here I've NEVER heard of!
Turns out, they are a group that started Jamming here in Michigan, grew and grew, ended up making cd's so the proceeds could go toward a Music Scholarship Fund. And, since I found they frequent most Michigan Music Festivals, I discovered there's like the World's largest Dulcimer Festival (that invites ALL string players!) held each July in Evart - middle of the State... middle of nowhere! (lol)
This group of friends has evolved over time into the high-energy jam known as The Squirrels' Nest. Known for fast tempos, key changes, blinky hats, glow sticks, friendly open jams, and squirrels in various states of undress, they can be pretty hard to miss if you come into their vicinity at the Michigan music festivals. And at the Evart, Michigan ODPC FunFest, they pull out all the stops!
There's a video on YouTube where they're having fun at the 2019 Evart Funfest playing, "Ragtime Granny (Annie)", "Can Can", "Polka De Grand Rouge" - I liked all this... until they played "Baby Shark".
So, instead of sharing that one, here's an AMAZING 11 minute long, NONSTOP SET they played at the 2016 Evart Funfest!
...you can hear strings breaking in here.
Squirrels' Nest Live - Evart 2016
I just HAD to show this video by Dale Palecek for "Reel De Beatrice" (Squirrels' Nest Live)!
...going to have to learn some of the tunes from this list!
