Aloha everyone,
I think I got a little inspired by one of Lindsey Stirling's videos and decided to write a tune about a dragon quest. I had envisioned a successful dragon hunt, but kept the minor key refrain going with the thought that, while the dragon slayer will indeed get his pot(s) of gold, he is slightly remorseful at the death of such a magnificent creature. Were that he could tame the beast and ride it into combat instead of "just" his horse. I've not experimented much with changing keys or using chords other than the standard 1-4-5 progression so I hope y'all enjoy this tune. I still think I need to add another section or two, but I like the way it is now. Please take a gander at this and let me know what y'all think.

You've done a great job! Being a grand geek and RPG fan, I can assure that you song is very fitting for it's endeavor. XD
However, I see this song better placed having the dragon slayer on grassy fields on it's way to a dragon's keep. While it's a very beautiful and peaceful place to be, it's still filled with dangers such as trolls, bandits, orcs and monsters to no end. That's jsut me, though - and I hope I didn't get too carried away on my picturing of the events.
But well, as we all know music is very subjective, and if you find this fitting for after the dragon has been slayed, it's up to you.
As for the changing keys, it worked great, and in the way you've done it, it feels like something has been accomplished. Kudos to you and to your composing skills!

Ya know, all this music you are composing is all well and good on a synthesizer, but why don't you start writing songs using your violin.
Aloha Fiddlestix,
I normally come up with my tunes while playing my fiddle. The synthesizer sound you hear is what MuseScore allows for output once the tune is scored. I am not yet capable, for the most part, of playing what I write. My background in music is primarily on keyboard, and I have a very good basis in music theory as well. For this tune, I only played the Violin 1 part, and used my keyboard to get the harmony for the Violin 2 part.
I have only been playing since 1 September and don't always play every day. As I get better on the fiddle, there will be a day when I can just play something well, then write it down, but for now I'll have to stick to what I can do - practice a little, get a tune in my head, play it on my fiddle to see if it needs be tweaked, score it with MuseScore, then export the sheet music and audio files from MuseScore. I actually do use my own music for practice.
My ultimate goal is to provide a video of me playing my tunes as I release them. Right now, that's not possible with my playing level. At times I get a little irritated with myself, as my composing ability is far beyond my playing ability. I do strive to keep string crossings to a minimum as we as avoid fingering too awkward, but due to my piano background, I may sometimes write a violin part in not the best manner. If that is the case, please let me know and I can then address that issue.
The reason I include the audio files is to allow everyone to hear what I envisioned when I wrote each tune. As I mentioned above, my intent is to provide a recording of myself, when I am at the level of the music.
