Pretty cool I ran across a CD with a potpourri of Spanish music from areas along the Ebro River, that was meant to coincide with the launch of the GR 99 Long Distance Trail (2006?)! This is a long river that cuts across Spain.
Músicas del Ebro Playlist
This book-disc guides the reader on a journey following the course of the Ebro River, from the Cantabrian Sea to the Mediterranean. An educational book that describes to the traveler (or navigator) the lands it irrigates, as well as the towns and cities it passes through along its nearly 1,000 kilometers of banks. A historical and cultural journey through the Ebro Valley accompanied by the sounds of musicians from the different peninsular territories it connects and which, as its authors point out, make it the Main Street. Songs from Luétiga (Cantabria); La Musgaña (Castile and León); Oskorri (Basque Country); Gaiteros & Strapalucio (La Rioja); Josetxo Goia-Aribe (Navarre); Biella Nuei (Aragon) and Baix Ebre (Catalonia) comprise the booklet of this beautiful CD, which features illustrations by the painter Jorge Gay.
A book-disc that was born coinciding with the launch of a Long Distance Trail (GR 99) that will allow you to walk, experience up close and enjoy the varied and exceptional landscape described in this work.
Unfortunately for me, the booklet doesnt help me (in Spanish) - still, that doesn't stop me from enjoying this glimpse of regional music in Spain! AND... I found a little series of 7 videos by 2 guys touring the trail on motorcycles! Almost like being there!

Few of my favorite tracks from the album (but I really like them ALL!)...
