All violinists who have been playing for less than one year are invited to compete for a new Fiddlerman Carbon Fiber bow.
Record a piece, set your camera/phone to a non-HD mode or convert to SD after recording in HD. We can't afford the bandwidth for HD entries, and we down convert to flash anyway.
Go to Battletothetop.com and log in. Under the battle menu, you can upload your video then enter the competition. The voting will start Monday, July 8. And yes, you will be able to get friends and family to join the site and vote for you, but the rounds will be served randomly, it's a bracket competition.

Battletothetop.com is a site that I bought and an idea that my brother and I had a few years back. My brother Danny wrote the code and this will be a test. There's a bow that is up for grabs so why not participate

Thanks for the update--I was wondering who "Danny Holstein" was as a probable relationship to Pierre. I registered as a "voter" since my aggregate time on violin is over a year. Hopefully lots of folks with less than a year playing will sign up as participants!

As a thought, one thing that may be talking my fellow beginners out of competing, is the short suspense date. A week is not much time for us beginners to work on a piece enough for us to feel good about it and actually submit it. Just a thought. I'm totally in though! Hopefully someone will join me!

Is there any plans on expanding the competition to "under 2 year" players?

I was thinking of that myself. Under 5 years?
Maybe everyone should say how long they've been playing to make it a little more fair. I just figured that it's hard for a violinist who has been playing for a few weeks to compete against one who has done several years.
How does under 5 years sound to you all. So far we only have one participant and it would hardly be a competition this way.
