We should start talking about what competition(s) we want next.
We'd like to start 2 concurrent competitions for next week, please give us ideas.

I tried to vote but using ie8 and windows xp the quick time window opens up pretty much off screen. all I can see is a small portion of the lower right corner so I can not start the video.

You could do one where there was a certain piece of music for lets say, 3 skill levels and those that enter have X amount of time to learn the music and then submit themselves playing it. As for the voting though, I think it might be a good idea to just have a few judges selected instead of how we are doing it now. In some ways, it may not be a good assessment of ability as it's really easy to just ask folks on Facebook to come and vote. I think the professional feedback would be of more assistance.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the comments they sent me on this contest. it means a great deal to hear from you all as to where I can improve and what things I was doing correctly. It's funny though because I was so nervous for most of this thing that I totally forgot to try doing some vibrato. My wife was very patient with all the times I asked her to suffer through that song...

Congratulations FinalPatriot for winning the Fiddlerman Bow.
I really enjoyed all 5 videos and was impressed by all the entries. I was going to make a big deal out of announcing the winner but didn't know that the the results would be evident at the end of the competition. FinalPatriot, please PM me your address.

Thanks folks! I credit Pierre and many of you for all the help you've given me. I think sometimes that all I do on these forums is ask more and more questions. This contest has really forced me to see my playing differently so it's been a huge learning experience. It's funny that I always frown when I play...

I would like some tips on how the battletothetop.com website should look. I know that it should have a completely different look but am having a tough time coming up with a design.
Any ideas, examples, or sketches would be appreciated. Thanks.
Also, I'll be implementing a "duet" contest soon. The idea is to work with someone on this site virtually or to play with someone that you know or play with in your area. Playing duets is a lot of fun and if you haven't ever done it, this would be your chance to team up with someone and showcase your performance at the same time.

That is a good question. I will have to put that under my hat and live with it for a while. I'll try to get some ideas for my daughter too.
I look forward to seeing what this develops into. I thought the winners were pretty good. I would like to be able to go into the site and see all of the entries.
My grandson and granddaughter both are learning the violin. Granddaughter is only 11 months, so she won't be posting any videos anytime soon. Grandson finally started using the bow in his class at school, and he is excited. I am going to try to get him to make an entry at some point.

Well for now, those are the only entries.
I'm hoping it will grow. We need to do some work first and keep testing it and encouraging others to participate, create leagues and so forth as well. I think it could go ballistic but we need to work hard. Don't know how much time I have for it.
In any case, haven't received any tips yet.
