Yeahhhh - I'll be there ( with my own, usually somewhat different take, of course - it's what we do - or at least as "fiddlers" - should do - "make it unique to you - but KEEP IT RECOGNIZABLE " ) !
Ohh - all I meant by that was that THAT is one of the tunes I "have in my head" - so - I'll launch it right here asap.... ( too late to do it now, closing on 11pm - but for sure first thing tomorrow ! ) Yeahhh

Thank you for the comments @CyndieZ and @coolpinkone - don't worry about it Toni, sometimes a planned take just doesn't work out! Take your time and have another shot at it - looking forward to a later take !
And thanks for the posts there @intrepidgirl - now that's what I call reverb ! Well done !

WOW !!! @~Rea What a lovely job you did- I am watching the party like an 8th grader at a first dance- I have heard this song all my life and can't come anywhere near close to sounding like that ! (I tried for days, and have great ideas, but I don't have the follow through yet.... )
I swear- someday I will be playing as well as my imagination

All rightie then......still trying to figure out the how, what and why of posting a YouTube video, but I at least got the point that I figured out how to insert a link. In other technical news, I somehow managed to rotate the video, and couldn't un-rotate it. Be patient guys, this is the first time I posted to YouTube....I'll figure it out eventually. (But any advice from you techie types is appreciated!)
So here is my attempt at America the Beautiful. It is not perfect, in fact I only learned it this morning, but I figured I had to "break the ice" sooner or later. I am 5 months in to my violin journey. Thanks for listening and for any feedback!

Well done ! ( It;s all OK, I was lying on the floor at the time, and it looked the right way up to me.... )
EDIT : OK - I meant to say - I sort of assume you posted from a mobile 'phone ? Like with a quick link that lets you post a vid ( or whatever ) to various places ? - Just guessing - if so - and you are NOT using any video editor software - then 0 IF the 'phone was "standing upright ( i.e portrait mode rather than "sideways-on" in landscape mode - then I kinda guess that, by default, that's how it would apper... BUT - I'm just guessing at that - I never post from mobile - and I could be completely wrong about how you did it anyway... LOL ) - but if you want to know more - just ask and explain what you did and how you recorded/captured it - we can sort it ! LOL )

Thanks @BillyG - you are correct, I did a quick video on my phone. I kind of assumed it was because I had the phone rotated to landscape that it displayed that way, but it doesn't generally do that. I tried using the laptop camera in video mode, but the sound was not good..... sustained notes cutting out, etc. The phone was actually much better. I have other options for recording, I was just going for the fastest and easiest.
I haven't done any video editing though.....what do you use?

PS - I seriously look better on my side. I think I'll try for upside down the next time! LOL

@CyndieZ -
Yup - I do all my recording on a laptop, but I do not use the internal mic. The internal mic tends to pick up fan noise and other stuff, besides, it not a great mic anyway for anything other than speech, like say on Skype. Apart from other "hiss" and "fan noise" (when it clicks in), it can also sound garbled and "clippy" ( on my machine, and I don;t really know why - but other folks report the same )
I record stuff in various ways - for really, really, quick takes to post to YouTube ( and indeed, live on StreetJelly ) - I use my laptop / desktop with an external web-cam and external USB mic /
The cam I use is one of the Logitech cameras ( I use both the Logitech C160 and the C270 on different machines - both are good - the C270 has more features like zoom and pan)
BUT - BUT - no - I don't rely on the camera's inbuilt mic - admittedly - yes - it WILL be better than the laptop or desktop in-built mic, but I use a separate studio USB mic - a Samson CO1U - it is a real nice device, great quality. There are others around, equally good, like the Snowball, and others - they are all good... The Samson was just my choice because I use a "normal" Samson (non usb) with phantom-power etc for other stuff I do.. So, it was just my mic of choice when I wanted something quck and easy to jump on to SJ - and just ended up using it for making these quick YT vids as well...
There IS no "best set-up" - but there are some simple steps ( and relatively cheaply in the greater scheme of things ) that you can do to get "good sound" ... LOL
That was just what I do, and why - others will have equally worthwhile opinions, I am sure !
EDIT : I meant to add- as regards video editing - I have no opinion whatsoever as regards 'phoneapps- but here, on the laptop / desktop I use the NCH "VideoPad" editor - does everything I need for now/ Picture-in-picture, overlays, green-screen, clipping, resizing, audio mixing ( OK, I often fall back to Audacity for audio mix ) - yup it costs few dollars - I forget - maybe 60 or 70 bucks - but I've used it for 5 years or so - never failed me.... I did try freeby video editors but - although they (largely... hmmm sort of) worked - I did have some real bad experiences of having spent 4 hours mixing, editing, adjusting things ( mix levels, video balance etc etc ) then it crashes-out... I will not name them.... and I only mention the NCH software suite because it "works well for me" LOL !
