Ahahhahahahaha im friggin excited!! Thanks fiddlerman!

On a side note, ive been thinking about making a violin, possibly cello from scratch. It would be electric. Can you point me in the direction of where to purchase the pickups and other pcs i cant manufacture by hand? It would be epic if i could make/learn cello with this project in mind.

I've had a quick look at the parts and this is not as easy as it sounds.

The Solo Violin seems to be the easiest and right away the fingering is a little tricky.  There is a pattern involved, I think.  The way I am doing it is that I use my third finger for both G and C, which are both at the same position, to play G and then C.  In the same position, I play E flat with my first finger, F with my second finger.

The next measure is a similar pattern except it is F and B flat that are at the same position and you play both of these with the same second finger.  In the same hand position, E flat is played with the first finger again and D is played open.

The first two measures of Violin I are the same idea.  Watch it though, in the second measure, E flat changes to E natural with the natural accidental for a subtle but dramatic change in tone.

There is a similar strategy for this particular phrasing in all the pieces.

There are a lot of nice double stops in this one, but the double stops that have me completely mystified are the articulated octave double stops starting at measure 11 in Violin II.

How in the heck are you supposed to finger these?  The fingerboard positions for the octaves of D and G are the same.  It might be pretty quick to shift between these.  But you are still left with the rest of the phrase.   Does it just take brute speed, or what?

Pierre took the solo part out. Take a look at the link he posted for the violin parts. He has added several parts that are quite a bit easier.

Double stops.... yeahhh.

The solo part is gone, but parts I, II and III are still in the group.  My question about the octave double stops is for part II.  And my fingering for the solo applies to much of I, II and III.

Could somebody offer some ideas for fingering the doubled stopped octaves at measure 11 in violin II?

For measure 11 just play bottom 2 notes 3/2 and quickly shift for the top note. Measure 12 and on looks like you need to shift to 3rd position 1 and 4 a/e, 1/4 d/a and so on.

Any other takes on it?

I started learning this song with my teacher today. Since I'm only 4 months new to violin she said I shouldn't attempt the octave doublestops. I'll be playing single notes for that part. I don't think it'll take away from the song if people only play single notes--however if you're brave go ahead with the octave double stops.

@risk: thanks for noting the additional parts that Fiddlerman has added.  Violin 1, 2 and 3 are all fairly challenging (at least for me), while 4, 5 and 6 will be more do-able.

I agree @intrepidgirl. Once pierre posts the playback file ill be going in reverse order (ish) with the parts.

@PopFiddle, did you find that fingering works for you? I only glanced at it but am wondering if i made a good call.
