Jesse, you're a legend! If this one turns out as well as Pierre's he might find himself out of a job.
But seriously, I hope you have the software to put it all together, because it will be awesome!
First of all, there's no way I could possibly put Pierre out of a job, I appreciate it though!
As far as the software, I should be good. The plan is pull the audio out of everyone's videos using Sony's Acid Studio to mesh get the audio right. Then it will just be a matter of overlaying the audio on top of everyone's videos using Sony's Movie Studio. Shouldn't be problem really. Not saying it will not be hair pulling, but I should be capable.

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to put a quick note in here to remind everyone that I would like to start putting this thing together next weekend. So, this would be a good week to work on finalizing everything! I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone play this thing! Have fun with it, hope to hear from you all soon!

I videotaped all four parts yesterday; I have problems trying to sprend large files so I asked Jesse if I could send him a thumbdrive, and he OK'd that.
I've been practicing all the parts every day since this project started. I got the fingerings down the first week then worked on intonation and trying to figure out bow distribution. I would always run out of bow just when the part indicated a long note. I can play all the parts but definitely have a long way to go to making them sound good. And the slow long notes bring out all the very worst of my playing! I have a nice bouncing bow on long downbows, and sometimes even on long upbows, the note dies down at the end, etc. I admit I haven't quite figured out the proper bow distribution for the parts, but enough is enough and I'm done with trying to get them sounding better! I recorded the parts and will send them to Jesse tomorrow on a thumb drive. This is the hardest project I've tackled on my now-13th month of re-taking up the violin!
I hope Pierre will join in as I think we really need a Master Player for this project to give the parts their proper sound. And of course I hope a whole bunch of folks are submitting videos too--we all know the more that are playing, the more it hides the mistakes any one person makes.

I am perusing.. will print out the music and do my cheaty mark up and see what happens this coming week. But no guarantees.. maybe after I play it .. it will speak to me more...but I am officially cheering!!!
And I am thankful for the hard work and excellent sheet, midi's and mp3 we were given to work with.
Thank you!!

I realize. Couldn't see a file that could be used as a click track though. Which one is the intended click track?

The way I used it--I used the midi for each part as the "clicktrack", saving it on my portable player. You may prefer using the mp3 for each part.
As Steve said, that was my intention. Each part has a MIDI and an MP3. They are identical, but wasn't sure about format for everyone. I'm open for recommendations on the next go around though!

I think I'll probably have to sit this one out, as I still don't have all the equipment needed to manage this and time is fast running out. (no mp3, no phone with music, no earphones) ..sigh...yes I am really behind the times. Kept forgetting to print out the music at work too. I also have no printer that works
Maybe I'll be geared up for the next project.
Too bad as I really wanted to wear an old beat up hat..

Although I absolutely love John Williams and this song, I think I better hold off on trying this one. Recently, I've been trying to separate my trumpet playing from my violin playing. I seem to be thinking as a trumpet player first and confusing my note placement/fingerings.
I've played this song in some form or another (Indiana Jones Suite, John Williams Overture, Hollywood Hits, Raider's Theme, The Crusade, et, et, et, et, et, et, et, et, LOL) for over the past 25 years and have it burned into my brain. Believe me, at first, it's a brass players dream to play Williams. But after so many years and concerts, it starts to feel like Bach's cello part in Cannon in D!
I'll have to revisit it after I hammer down some of the finer points of violin sheet music reading. I need to start thinking in terms of finger placement/position rather than valve & embouchure position.

Jesse tells me I'm the only one to submit a video, and since I submitted all 4 parts, he did the best he could with mine, making a composite video! Jesse did a great job, thanks! The performer didn't do so well--this is why many folks should join in on a project. But I enjoyed practicing the parts and learning the new places fingers should go on all those "strange notes". LOL
