Have a listen on Youtube. This piece of music is basically for string orchestra plus a couple of 4-bar flute and clarinet solos. There's some unobtrusive timpani and horn work that can be ignored. I've downloaded the IMSLP gubbins and am wondering about the easiest way to squeeze those flute and clarinet solos into the violin, viola and cello parts.
There is a string quartet version knocking around for money, but I think the bass is essential.
I began installing some notation software, but it came with a shedload of spam attached, so that I uninstalled it. Anyone got any suggestions how to avoid writing the CM parts out in full by hand?
