St Pats Day medley - with running commentary ! ( it IS a party, after all ).  Oh, and the white tabs on the stick are for another purpose - I was trying to follow bow-direction change on a video I made to see where I was going wrong - sometimes hard to see on faster fiddling.... the markers help...

EDIT: oh didn't notice the new post there - @makinnoise - nice piece, I like it, thank you !

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

fidelestre

no its not an electric, its just the way it sounds with the mic and app i use to record.

The natural recorded acoustic sound isn't the best so i darken it a bit and add a touch of reverb, makes it sound way better :)

@BillyG

Good job! I like listening to others play.

Oh Danny boy is a great tune and fun to play!

Keep The Irish tunes rollin in!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Here is Aaron's Key jig, as I learned it in our local slow session. Am still working on getting it fully in my head, but right now I still need the sheet music!

Great job, everyone! I keep meaning to record something new for this.... I was going to earlier this week but my playing was annoying me, lol.

Nice tunes @Fidelestre and @Schaick !

Here's another traditional Irish tune that I really like a lot: Planxty Fanny Power. I added my own guitar, whistle and mandolin parts (mostly to cover up my scratchy fiddle). :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all!

@Schaick - The baby is trying to dance to your music! A future set or step dancer, for sure.

@KindaScratchy - I like the way you were able to accompany yourself and blend it all together.

Both of those tunes were new for me - thanks for sharing.

Here is another jig I recorded this morning but didn't have time to post before leaving for work. It is Club Ceili, also known as the Old Favorite (or the Old Favourite, if you prefer that spelling). Unfortunately, I still need the sheet music for it!

Well I had planned on making a video tonight, after all, I'm a read headed Irish lass who plays Irish music...but I didn't get home from work until almost 9:00 then had to feed my kiddos dinner and now I'm pooped.  I'll get it soon though.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

Nice performance of Silver Spear, @damfino . Silver Spear was introduced just before Christmas in my son's Irish music class-  they didn't get back to it after the holidays, but I really like the piece, with its triplets.

Just got back from my son's Irish music class and guess what? - they looped back to Silver Spear! It is a simplified version for the kids to play, but still very nice. So I will be learning it too.
