Hi !
In "another place" I've started a small "You are my Sunshine" project. I'm still working on the final version of the score for that project - but - in the meantime here is the sheet - 2 violin parts, plus viola and cello. I'll also include the synthesized play-along and the MuseScore file if anyone wants to hack-around with it... have fun and submit any of your own versions here !

I was just playing this today! One of the few from "way-back" that I can still play from memory, although I play it in G.
This will be fun to play with. Will be an interesting change-up around the campfire-impromptu-jam sessions I seem to get involved with. These are fun because nobody is a professional and everybody makes mistakes. Several adult beverages are usually involved, too...........
Thanks!

You're welcome ! There will be a more complete version with probably 4 reps of the melody but with some notation changes (same notes, probably just changes affecting the bowing - which I guess you can improvise anyway) but why ? - just to stop it getting boring, and as you so rightly say - "for fun".....

@djroger - although the project I'm working on is "off-forum" - here's a link to my finalized play-along for the vln1 part -
And here's the vln 1 score....
And the full 4-part score if you / anyone is interested in the other parts -
Have fun !

Aha, the final date for the YAMS project submissions is approaching (15 Nov 2017). After that, if I do get any submissions, I'll be mixing them down as best I can !
Oh - just to clarify for new readers - this little project is not one of Pierre's - we have a number of folks from the forum here, and on other FB pages who play different instruments - and it was a plan of mine to do a SMALL group project....
But, in the meantime - here's a preliminary take of my own on vln1 ( and yeah, it gets boring, so some impromptu triddley-dee-dee bits have just appeared - I make no apology for that whatsoever - do something similar if you wish !
Anyway - for those on the forum that intend to contribute to my project - NOTE - in this take I mixed my play-along with the backing track - we DO NOT WANT THAT for final submissions of course ! ( I did it here, only to hide/minimize my own imperfections ! )

Yeah - @bob - following your chat in the chat ( ? ) yah know what I mean @Bob - here is a link to all the backing track parts for vln 1, vln 2, viola and cello - and in passing - let me invite you to our FB groups - you should get notified soon...
---- extract from my original FB post ----
OK, so.... I was side-tracked for a while - but I now have the finished score.
In fact, I have created 14 separate "documents".
They are -
2, 3, 4, 5) Separate pdf scores for vln1, vln2, viola and cello
6) A synthesized .mp3 file to give an overall sort of idea what the final mix is aiming for
7, 8, 9, 10) four separate animated play-along videos with a drum-beat intro
11, 12, 13, 14)four separate animated play-along videos with a drum-beat (metronome idea) throughout
Now - FB is an utter PITA in this regard, and although I could upload the files, they can only be done one at a time - so - instead - I have placed them all on a "junk" website I use when I'm just "noodling around" with stuff... all the documents, and descriptive text are to be found here -
http://www.scourie.org.uk/You_.....nshine.htm
I think I've done everything that might be needed by players of various abilities, apart from actually playing the parts
- but if you need anything else- just ask....
You should be able to down-load any or all documents you need - if you are having issues downloading, let me know...
^5s Bob - and Thank You for your interest !!!!! All good....

Heyyy @Bob - awesome my friend... the easiest way to do this is to follow the actual thread of what is happening, is to be invited to the FB group - so now I think about it - of course I made it private - so I can only invite by either email or your FB link - if you have an FB account - friend me, and I'll invite you !
If you can't find me - I should be found at "https://www.facebook.com/bill.gunn.589" then PM me on the forum and we'll get you sorted.....
Cool ( and once that's done, I'll invite you to another couple of fiddle-interest beginner groups.. )

OH - @Bob - in answer to where you should post - once you are in the FB group, just post it on YouTube, but post it as "unlisted" ( not "private" ) so no one other than the folks in the project group can see it - or - well - it does not really matter - make it public if you wish - all I will need at the end of the day to mix it all down is a video with audio (without the backing track of course) - and - you do not need to send anything to me - once you have posted to YT as unlisted or public, and let us know, I can download it and mix it with the other players....
All good Bob !

I just realized what FB is "FACEBOOK"! Shows how backwards I am concerning social media![]()
I do have a FB account, but don't know much about using it. I'll get on facebook and try to learn a bit more.
Thanks for all the help.
Bob
Hahahaha - trust me - I don't really do the "social media thing" either - only for the interests I have - but - being active there for the last few years has brought me into contact with quite a number of fellow players....
And, as I mentioned, this little project is kind of "outwith" the FM forum - because (hopefully) it will include other stringed players - and of course - since it all started her with thanks to @Fiddlerman for getting us all together and come up with the idea of a virtual-orchestra - my final mix-down ( if we get one ! ) will of course be shared here...
Excellent !

Bill, thanks for setting me up.Had to go out and take care of the animals (sheep, peafowl).
Got access to the FB page and it looks busy. I'll check into uploading to youtube and will post the link when done.
What type of sheep? Yarn or meat? I spin yarn so if yarn sheep, what variety? I also love lamb but buying lamb for eating is usually best done locally and we are probably FAR apart! I also have an FB account and would love to have some violin friends. My FB acct is under my real name, which I won't give out in a chat due to not knowing who may be lurking that isn't a friend. Feel free to PM me.

@Bob Hey there, got your PM, but having trouble finding you on FB. Hope I don't have the same issue with BillyG! I can't respond to PM's due to being on a mobile phone. Can you PM me with you email so I can respond and give you my FB page. Maybe you will have better luck than me!

That's it - it's complete - The You are my Sunshine collaborative project - we've done the best we can - and it's not bad ! I never want to hear that accursed tune again...
6 players, 4 from @Fiddlerman 's FiddlerMan Forum and two others from FB groups, contributed in total 12 parts - from a four-part score ( vln 1, vln 2, viola, cello )
THANK YOU TEAM - you did great !
