Anyone wanting to do a show, but just unsure how StreetJelly works?
Billy and I both did "Strings on Sunday" shows today. We both recorded them with JellyCaster so they are currently in replay for the day. (the replay is a special option you have to select, your show won't automatically replay, no worries!)
Feel free to go check them out, see how laid back you can be for the shows... All fun, no fuss. Any questions? feel free to ask!! It's not a bother, we want to help you do a FiddleFest show, the more the merrier!!!
You know you'll be sorry if you miss out doing FiddleFest just because you are unsure about StreetJelly!!

Excellent.... yayyy - tyvm Y.y. Xu (even if you are not a forum member here - the FiddleFest is open to ANY player - great stuff...... yayyyy)
And TYVM @damfino for keeping on top of things - we were doing the "actual moving house thing" this week ( getting all the large items over to the new place - so I've been a bit preoccupied, and spending a lot of time on the road)
I do not recommend moving home to anyone... it is not a lot of fun.... even at the fourth time of doing it...

Moving is no fun. Growing up I felt like we were always moving, painting new place and old place, packing and living out of boxes forever, haha.

Why do I live in a country with GMT+4 timezone?? All of the slots available are at like after 01.00 a.m. for me!

@Tipiaowsek If you played a show before Barry, say at 1:30 pm EST, would that be a better hour for you? We're focusing on filling the later gap, but we could add you in an earlier slot

10.30 would be too late. My neighbours won't be happy with me. A slot before Barry would be fine concerning time. Oh god I'm gonna be so nervous. ^^'

@Tipiaowsek - the annual Fiddlefest event is intended to run for a day - for exactly this reason - to let folks from across the world in different time zones to join in. I'm bang-on GMT and that has made it difficult at times to catch USA players in some other get-togethers we have had - kept me up till 3 or 4am on occasion !!!!
Although planned to spread across a 24 hour period, there is no specific "start time" - and indeed, slotting in before Barry would be great if it suits you.
I see from the SJ site this will be your first live show - just a quick comment - I'm sure you will have done the "Test broadcast" - but - if you get a chance I strongly suggest you do a very quick, actual live broadcast in advance.... It is usually fine, but, there sometimes can be issues (for instance, the test may appear to work on the JellyCaster mode, but, in real live use it may not steam properly depending on your bandwidth and so on)
If you would like to run a live test, let me know and I'll be there to check !

@Tipiaowsek Don't be nervous
JellyCaster is the broadcaster that doesn't use a Flash player and seems to work easiest for most lately if you have fast internet, but if you know the tricks of your browser to make sure your flash player is running, that broadcaster is easiest if you have a slower internet speed.

@BillyG A live test would be perfect! I did try to use Jellycaster and the flash video broadcast, it appeared to work but my internet connection isn't that great all the time so I prefer to test. Tell me a time appropriate for you so we can test it.:)

I'm mad that my computer was being picky. For some reason as some kind of power saver, it won't fun flash if it isn't plugged in. I had it plugged in and charging, and it still wouldn't run. I'll have to do a restart before tomorrow so I don't have that issue for the event

Hia @Bob - just caught your post on the chat -
Easiest way to do it is to just "go live" at a planned time, so, like we did with Tipiaowsek, there'll be one of us around to check out your sound and video. It only needs to last a few minutes if all is well - sometimes it's worth doing stuff like improving the lighting, or shifting the mic levels if the audio is too low or too hot..
The thing to do is just arrange this privately with folks like myself and Mandy, and NOT to post an actual SJ scheduled performance, instead, just leap straight-on and play, at the agreed time - one or other of us will be there to assist if needs be !
Go for it Bob - there are still open slots in Fiddlefest !!
