You guys inspire me so much- I wish you could read my mind while I practice--- you would be very happy !!
THANKS !!!
I swear- someday I will be playing as well as my imagination

Yes, @Mark, it went well, and thanks for trying to tune-in !
A big THANK YOU to all who played , and equally, to all audience members
.
That was Fiddlefest 4. Bring on the next one !

I know that Georganne @Georganne and @Mark didn't manage to catch other players on our FiddleFest 4 event on StreetJelly. I set mine up to "record for replay" using the Jellycaster mode, and the "replay" WOULD have been available for 24 hours had I not done a later fill-in to cover an open slot in our schedule. However, the .mp4 recording is held available for longer than that, so I downloaded it and stuck it on you-tube for your "enjoyment" (hmmm...) Anyway, here it is -
"BillyG on StreetJelly for the 4th Annual Fiddlefest. The whole, unexpurgated version - all 30 minutes of it (you have been warned), warts and all. For those unused to the Streetjelly platform, when actually broadcasting live, there is a text-chat-window where the audience exchange comments - hence my occasional ducking-down to my right to read the screen. I could have edited these out, to just leave the music, but not worth the effort really..."
feature=youtu.be
Just HOW MUCH FUN was that - what a great 8 or so hours in total..... Thanks to ALL the players and audience - you were great !

That's great that you put it on youtube! I was a bit bummed that I couldn't see your show. I didn't know you could get a .mp4 of the show. Can you get it even without using the replay button?
Do not practice until you get it right, practice until you can't get it wrong.

@Tipiaowsek - I'm actually just a little bit confused about it - but it kind of seems to work like this -
1. You have to use the JellyCaster mode
2. Before you start broadcasting you can select the"Replay" mode
3. Once you are broadcasting, and (I think !) if you are 3 or more days since your last "Replay" session (SJ impose this limit to prevent someone being "permanently featured" in their replay list) you'll see a second button "Record" - click that one as well.
4. That's what I did for my original slot, and, I appeared in the "Replay" shows on the SJ page.
5. Later in the evening, I did a second show, just a fill-in slot to keep things running. On THAT second show I did NOT select Replay or Record - and after the show, my original show "Replay" on the SJ home page had gone..... even though I did not, as I say, choose to select the Replay / Record options. Now, the "Replay" of the show is kept for only 24 hours - BUT - it seems that if you run a further show within that 24 hours, it is removed - and I can understand that.
6. However, if you go to your "Show Details" - you, as the SJ account holder will see something like this - (you cannot see other artists show details though, just your own ) - and you can download it as an mp4. Unlike the posted "Replay" of your show which remains only for 24 hours, your .mp4 seems to be retained for 30 days...
Hope that helps ! As I say, I'm still a bit confused myself....

@BillyG I think I understood. I use the flash player when I go live cause my connection is really slow. I don't think there's a replay option for that. I'll have to try to use the jellycaster and see if I can get the .mp4 too!
Do not practice until you get it right, practice until you can't get it wrong.

Yes, @Tipiaowsek - you're correct, the option is not available on the Flash-player.
I can (from bitter experience) give you some advice regarding what "limits" I see on broadband speed. I was originally on an ADSL connection (copper telephone-line all the way to the exchange), and my upload speed was only 330kbps. At that rate, I was "reasonably successful" using the Flash option - indeed, using the monitor, it was pretty much topping out at 300kbps while streaming, but trying to use it in the JellyCaster mode really didn't work at all well - it "appeared" to be broadcasting, but viewers would get about the first ten seconds of video, a delay, then the first 10 seconds or so - repeated forever !!!!!
I have now upgraded to VDSL ( copper phone line to a fiber cabinet ). It is a little better, in that I can achieve upload streaming speeds of around 1.5Mbps. Using that, I was successful with the JellyCaster mode, and in fact, using my network traffic monitor, I found that it was streaming out at around 450kbps.
So, in summary, if you can find your upload speed (either by running any one of the various broadband speed-checkers out there, or by directly interrogating your router/modem), and it is around the 450kbps or better, you are probably good to go with the JellyCaster mode, fingers crossed !

Thank all of you that played, it was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday...
I am practicing hard and hope to someday be able to join you... (I don't think 1/2 hour of Twinkle and Boil Cabbage would go over all that too well )
Billy, I may tease you about getting older, but WE are getting better, not just older
You inspire us, thanks again.

Hahaha, @JamesRSmithJr no problem, tease-away!!!! Our age gap in years will never change, but the differential is lessening all the time - you will assuredly soon become as crazy as me. Start to worry now my friend !
Anything you say can never be even half as bad as the (good-humored) insults @Barry Nelson and myself exchange on SJ !
You are welcome. In my impending dotage, all I really want to do is to have fun with fiddle music, improve technique, expand my repertoire, play tunes that may rarely have found an outlet on fiddle, and try to make fiddling "fun for the masses" It is my mission in life
And by the way - there is no insistence on 30 min shows at all, and it is amazing how quickly the time goes, especially if you stop to chat a bit, maybe about the issues you currently experience ( issues concerning fiddle playing that is, not the fact that you can't get outside to cut the grass today because it is raining..... )

Finally got my FiddleFest show downloaded and then uploaded to youtube. It's a slightly edited version, cut out some long quiet bits (I apparently wasn't very chatty by my second show of the night, haha) and a couple of my worst flubs, but here it is
