I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Went to check it out but was too late. How did it go?

Well, @Fiddlerman, it was somewhat "quiet" - what with the very short-notice I gave.  SJ usually is pretty much dead daytime in the UK.   But I had 5 viewers - lol - sometimes have none !   Dennis @cdennyb must have caught my advance info and came on to say hia while struggling with SJ on a mobile platform!  Thanks Denny - much appreciated mate!bunny_pole_dancer

The others were just lurkers, but thanks for trying to catch me.   Oh - this is what you missed - bet you're kicking yourself now boss !  Hahahaha -

Skye boat song
Comin' through the Rye
Red red rose (my love is like a)
Thistle of Scotland
Dark Island
Loch Lomond
My love she's but a lassie yet
Irish Washer Woman
Harvest Home Hornpipe
Turkey in the Straw
Red Wing
Red River Valley

Anyways, I'm planning another few short 30 min sessions while I'm at home this week as a lead-up to the 3rd FiddlerMan FiddleFest just to experiment with, and improve the overall physical-layout of my "studio" - I'm working in cramped-conditions at the moment, and just need to get comfortable from where I'm playing....   Further sessions will have (slightly) longer notice!

Another one today folks ( Sunday, 16th at 5pm UK - maybe's around 10-11am across the water ).  It'll be  much the same set list....

It's marked as "Fiddle on..." so - jump on if you can and say hi ! Better-still, join-in and do a quick show !

I'm around, so I'll pop on to watch ya :)

I finally made a spot in a spare room to leave my video stuff set up most of the time (which being lazy like I am, will be permanent until I paint the room in a couple months, lol) so it should make it easier for me to jump on and do a random show like this soon :)

@Schaick Here is a video on how to add swing to a fiddle tune:

Edit to add, Harvest Home is an easy tune for practicing adding it in, it has an easy bounce to it that helps you feel it.

Awesome - see - sometimes the unplanned things just go down a blast...   Thanks for joining in @Barry and @Schaick  - and to @OldOgre @damfino (and anyone else I missed) for lurking and chatting - excellent.   THANK YOU ALL - performers and audience.  Great way to spend 90 minutes - you can't beat it....   hats_off

Oh yes, and Off To California was originally a hornpipe that is played as a straight tune at bluegrass jams.

Thanks @damfino

I love Off to California, it's in my Irish fiddle book. There is another Irish tune that starts the same, can't remember it off the top of head, that's in the book as either a jig or reel, and I have a hard time not playing it as a hornpipe, lol.

I'm glad Dennis showed up. 5 is better than none. :)

Seems like you have a nice repertoire. Very cool.

Glad to hear it! See you at the FiddleFest!
