I'm fine with a delay of a weekend or two. Friday night into Saturday night (GMT-5) works for us as well. I do admit, though, I'm really not sure how many songs in this genre I have under my belt, or is that under my bow... The tunes I can think of that have anything to do with courting or love would be Angeline Baker, Cindy, Shortnin bread and Ol Joe Clarke. May even get Katha to participate again. That girl needs more prodding than I do....

Thanks, @KindaScratchy and @BillyG ... I'm mostly better. Slight headaches everyday, but not like that one, lol.

I'll have to look into joining the one in February if I can figure out how doing a live video works... only I don't think I know any love songs, lol.

OK OK OK - it's the next one - it is only 3 weeks away - lets's just do what we can and above all - keep on playing - here we go - it was originally planned for Valentine's Day - but I know that's a "bad time" in-and-of-itself because folks will have their own plans on such a "special day"  LOL

So - I know - I have been lax about this - more notice I am sure would have been welcome - but here it is - next up on StreetJelly ---- a Belated Valentine's Day tribute to the ladies - come on blokes - PLAY THEM TUNES FOR THE LASSIES -

val-banner-2016.JPGImage Enlarger

Yayyyy - get it on !!!!

And thanks once again to all the performers and contributors on the last Fiddle On / Burns Night  - it was very much appreciated - thank you !

Heyy folks - just a reminder - these things "fall off the calendar" over time - calling all StreetJelly folks here ( although targeted at fiddlers/violinists etc, nevertheless, *all types of music* / instrument - but especially any music from you shy fiddlers ( LOL ) is welcomed - regardless of level - just "go for it" - it's all good ! )

The "Belated Valentine's Day" get-together is scheduled for 27th Feb - really planned as a spot for lads to play love songs for the lassies - but - ANY and ALL music is welcome ! Let's have a SJ belated-Valentine's-party-day !

Maybe we can list some easy love songs sheet music or suggestions here.

OK I'm away from home evey second week for a while, but always take my EV with me.  Still down- south but heading home tomorrow for a week.  Expect a few SJ sessions - I won't set a theme, but come Monday just check out the street jelly schedules, find me there, and join in (I mean play a set if you can).   See you on the Jelly......

I have not surfed around too much on the Fiddlerman site, and I just looked at StreetJelly to see what it was about.  Very cool!  I await another jam session of some kind, it looks intriguing.  I will see if I can get the guts up to participate perhaps, also.  Practice practice practice!

Fiddlin' on The Jelly - 1:30pm (GMT) today....   Probably schedule another show for very early morning (my time) tomorrow - that should match up with late evening in states...  maybe catch up with some folks then....

@intrepidgirl - yup - it's great fun, especially when a few of us manage to fit in consecutive performances.   I had been trying to arrange a monthly meet-up but stuff (life!) got in the way after the last bash (Valentines Day).   Gonna try to resurrect it come June.....

This was an impromptu SJ show - only a couple of hours notice so I didn;t post it here, just on Facebook.

But I ( and / or the viewers ) had issues watching.

Well - I don't really know what happened. Although I had done a test transmission which was fine - the first 3 live attempts failed to find both my mic and camera. Very odd. Then tried the "JellyCaster" mode - that seemed to work, but Amanda Anderson and Tim Cass commented that it was frozen, or at best intermittent. There were another 4 present at the time, but none commented, even when I asked if they could see/hear - so I assumed they *couldn't*.... Anyways - I was just "miffed" as they say - so I did an off-the-cuff sort of reprise of the SJ session as a YT video... here it is, complete with my whinging and grumbling.... ROFL. I know that on my "old" 512k broadband the video would occasionally drop, although, generally, the audio stream seemed to be fine. But now I'm a whole 8 times faster at 4mbps... It's always difficult to know which end the problem is - in future I'm planning to run a second laptop just "watching" my own show - that'll help to prove where the "issue" ( if there is one ) is located- and if IT sticks then I would expect other folks are having issues and the issue is between me and the server. If IT is clean, but others are experiencing issues - then it's between them and the server... Grrrrrr..... Oh - I'm pretty certain it's not an actual SJ server issue, AFAIK it is pretty darned robust - it's the routes in to it and out of it that are outwith any control of SJ.... Here it is, warts and all, unedited, just straight-off-the-wall - this is just bits of the stuff I had been playing on The Jelly -

For those interested - StreetJelly is running its usual seasonal "Jelly Jingle" event - basically intended for playing your seasonal tunes (although, of course, SJ continues in it's normal mode as well, welcoming any and all players of any instrument and genre)

I haven't scheduled anything yet, but probably will do so very soon - if you enjoy playing to a friendly audience, or just joining in as an audience member, keep an eye on the SJ site - at http://www.streetjelly.com

Awesome @mookje !   [ Not fancy following me - say 30 mins later ? Hint, hint, hint :) :)   :)   ]

I guess my 10am will be your 11am in NL - although I suppose most of the States-side folks will still be putting-up zzzzzs at their time of the morning !  cool

LOL @mookje - I kinda make 'em up as I go along ( well, I exaggerate somewhat, of course I have already played them through - but - they're the sort of thing I would play maybe a total of 5 times in a year - so it's not like I'm overly familiar with them, but hopefully they'll be "close" to the tune and hopefully recognizable !)

Besides, SJ is open for anything, not just the "Jelly Jingle" event !!!

Hahaha - I'm just winding-you-up here - it's all good - if you're not  up for playing tomorrow, that's all good!

Looking forward to seeing you there !  bunny_pole_dancerYippeee - it'll be my first SJ show in about 10 or so weeks, I have withdrawal symptoms....   exactly

:) LOL @bocaholly - possibly not - good reason - this will be my "first time round" playing some of these tunes live, and I'll probably play much the same set-list later on in the next day or so (hopefully better!!!!) - and SJ only allows you to set a replay option once every 3 days - so I would probably wait for the next time I do the (much the same) show to set a replay option

However - I do record all my shows locally anyway, along with the SJ chat area as well (which makes it quite interesting - and which the SJ replay does not have), locally-to-my-machine and that's outwith SJ control - so I could post that to YT or whatever and share here.

Lots of options !

I usually try to start a Xmas Tunes thread - but it was a bit too late for me this year by the time I got back on track - we could of course just add to @mookje 's Jingle Bells thread ( if you're happy for that @mookje ?   It would keep any 2018 Xmas tunes in one place ? )
