Hi,

I thought I already posted this, sorry if it is a duplicate.

I'm looking for software for writing music, so I can save transcribed songs in files.
 Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Dino

I think MuseScore are a nice software. But I'm not an expert.

I use Finale Notepad, which works fine except I can't figure out how to make it play da capos. There's also one called MuseScore, which someone else will have to describe the pros and cons of. exactly

MuseScore is free and runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

You can create a score with as many instruments as you want, then play it back to know how it sounds.

See the "Getting Started" video tutorials at http://musescore.org/

Also you can download and upload scores for free at musescore dot com.

Notice the two different addresses:   .org   and   .com

I use Finale but it costs a fortune.

Harmony Assistant is good and cheap too : http://www.myriad-online.com/e.....armony.htm

I use it a lot. You can export the score in many formats too - MIDI, tab, notation, abc, XML ...

The free version is free, but obviously not as powerful. But for a noob, it's perfectly sufficient. note

Thanks for all your responses.

I downloaded MuseScore, it's way more than I needed, and works great. I'll try using it for a while, and maybe try Finale too.

Thanks,

Dino

And what about GuitarPro? But the biggest disadvantage of it is that you can't (or I don't know how) save the file as .pdf

BTW. Do you guys know software for writing music, but for Android (or Windows Phone or other mobile devices)?

Greetings from Poland ;)
