So last week Ducks on a millpond came back up as a tune to play due to some playing around with another instrument. Through that and doing a search for different versions I ran across how close that tune resembled black eyed susie which to me seems like a different tune because of the B part. Also found this very similar named tune called Ducks on a Pond..drop off the mill part 😅 . confusing yes but interesting to me and cool little tunes. Im just sharing these 2 together in one place. nothing more to it.
And another version of the millpond ducks played on fiddle and clawhammer.
Like I said ..no purpose in the post other than sharing the music and that when youre searching for a song or tune..check out things with similar names..you may find something you like.

@ABitRusty -
Knew there was a Duck tune I liked - it's definitely Ducks on The Pond!
I was curious if it was a slip jig, but thesession.org says it's a Barndance, but the source is Henry Reed - so, is it an Irish/Scottish or 'Old Time' CRITTER tune?
After listening to the version at thesession.org - feel it could easily be played either way, so think I'll slip it into both CRITTER threads. 😊
Sounds like it's right up your alley, though!
...I could get into playing this one, too. 😊

yes! thats a very cool tune. Id be lying if i said i knew origin but since you said henry reed...seems like slipperyhill maybe had that as a reference? need to look. I say its old time but you know how that is. possibly based on something else.
it would be interesting to find a version more irish or scottish sounding. i havent been familiar with it long but ive only heard old time versions so far..
