I tapped my foot all the way through this one. It is so hot and humid here today, I worked up a sweat. The "real feel" temp today is supposed to go up to 105-110, and the humidity is so thick you can cut it with a knife. Going to be like this the next three days. AC is pumping!

Just added this tune to my "Have to learn" list! Thanks @ABitRusty for this fine tune!

And, got to get me one of these Toebourines! https://bradleysowash.com/teac.....toebourine

Same here on the temp.  Keep water on you

I immediately thought of this tune when I heard the toe rapper.  Now if only to get the fiddle part down one day!

I just ordered one of those Toebourines. At least that's one instrument I can play with some competency! You learn the fiddle part to Seven Nights in Eire and I'll play the toe tapper part! :)

Good stuff. I actually ordered a similar foot tambourine after seeing that video. :)

I didn't want to say, since I didn't get the one on the video. I only didn't get it because it seems a bit too big and I'm not sure I want to hear the wood hitting the floor. It seems like a nice one though.

I got this one: psc=1

Nice one, and the price is considerably cheaper than the Toebourine™ in the video I posted.

I looked at several before I went with this one because on his website he explains how he purposely positioned the jingles vertically instead of horizontally. The important difference being that the jingles then produce a staccato "snap" (like a high-hat in a drum set) as opposed to horizontal jingles that rattle too long for precise timekeeping...at least he claims.

And, as far as the wood, since I'm an old time fan, I figured the wood hitting the floor will only add to the tune.

I'll get one too then. Are you happy with it?

I just bought it the other day. I haven't received it yet. If you want to hold off, I'll let you know once I receive it.

@Fiddlerman My Toebourine arrived in the mail yesterday. I like it, but the wood bottom on a hard floor is a bit harsh. I solved that easily by applying a thin strip of rubber to the bottom, and that softened it quite a bit with out affecting the jingles. Having the jingles in a vertical position does produce a clean staccato "snap".

Very cool. And great idea with the rubber. I was a bit afraid of that myself.

Gettin' about the end of my coffee break... bumping up this thread that's a little bit before my time here.

I'm totally in love with the "Seven Nights in Eire"! 🤗

Gotta see if I can find some toe/foot rapper tappers in kid's size!!!

Here's a better quality audio.

Reckless Kelly also has a good live video to see the fiddling, but the audio isn't as clean because of the crowd cheering. (lol)  Seven Nights in Eire Live
