Hey Pierre,

I was wondering if you have any full-lined wooden bows that are whale bone wound. I didn't see any but I have to ask. My local shop's cheapest one is a $700 Schaeffer Brasil. Not really in the mood to spend that much since I'm already paying a lot in upgrades for my fiddle.

Thanks in advance!

Funny that you should ask. We don't have any listed but perhaps I can get the Chinese Pernambuco bow with the Whale bone wound instead of Silver. I believe I chose the silver over the whale bone a while back.
Would you like for me to get you a price?

I thought that the winding on the bow where for weight and balance? not just decorative, I'm I wrong?

With violins there is no fretting over the music.

If it's not too much trouble I wouldn't mind a price.

As for the winding on the bow, for the style I play I choke up on the bow and put my thumb just above the leather thumb grip. The silver winding is a detriment to my playing because it is thin and slippery. The whale bone drastically increases my grip on the bow and I play ten times better. The bow I mentioned above also has a thicker winding which is really awesome. I don't know what I'm going to do. :(
