I was going to surprise Thomas with a new violin for Christmas but he wants to be involved in the decision making so I have some questions and I dont know if I should direct them to fiddlerman or everyone else. Here is a link to what I have narrowed it down to.....https://fiddlershop.com/collec.....lability=1 and I am leaning toward the Holstein Premium Bench Lord Wilton 1742 Violin. This will be the last violin upgrade for him for a few years and he is competing beginning this year in various competitions this year, so I want a violin that is good for solo playing.
Out of the ones in the link:
Which is the best for a soloist? We do not like the black one on the list btw.
If I can narrow it down to just two, would Pierre(or someone) do a video comparing the two choices for me?
When we have decided, we would like a bridge, strings that are good for solo performing and of course would pay extra if needed. But I do not know what significance a bridge plays in the softness of tone. So what bridge and strings to get?
Thank you in advance for helping me.

Talk to fiddler shop and let them know what your looking for and your price range and Michel will make a comparison video of different fiddles for you to listen to, I would not rule out the ming fiddle they sound pretty good to me.
